OSU's Bryant nabs Big 12 honor

Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant has been named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

Bryant had a 78-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Cowboys' win over Texas A&M.

It was the 11th-longest punt return in OSU history. He also had a 23-yard kickoff return.

Bryant is the nation's fourth-leading punt returner and is one of two players (Brandon James of Florida) with two punt returns for scores this season.

Bryant had eight touches in the game for 216 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns, including three receiving TDs.

Actually, CNNSI.com has mentioned Zac, Hunter and Dez as "receiving votes" so to speak. If they continue to play well they will be in the discussions. They have gotten their stats right now against lower quality competition. If they do the same after playing OU, Mizzou, Texas and Tech then they'll get lots of attention no problem. Once we get 4 more games under our belts we'll have a much clearer picture of who should and should not be included in these discussions.

not so sure about that... he's only a sophomore... which means that they seldom get much love until very very late in the voting...

Exactly. If Dez keeps up the pace for most of the rest of the games and just has a few off games he will be on the top of many lists next year.
