Justin Waller may not return. He's pondering giving up football. Pettigrew will go pro in my opinion. I've stated that for most of the year. I'm afraid he will work out and climb the charts. He says he won't go if he's not a first or second rounder, but I don't believe it.

I pray he stays though.

CBSSportsline in their ranking of top ten (10) SENIOR WR/TE's has Adarius Bowman listed as the number 2 prospect in the nation and they have only two (2) TE's listed. One of which is Rucker at Missouri and they comment about how he can't block.

If Pettigrew goes early then I would think he would have an excellent chance to move up the list of TE's available. He can block. He can catch. He can run with the ball. And he definitely has the size.

Now with that said I hope he stays. We need him for next year. But that will be his decision and I hope he doesn't take it lightly and listens to both the pros and cons of going early.

When is the NFL draft?

I believe that he has until a week prior to pull his name out of the hat. (provided he doesn't hire an agent)

I imagine we won't know much of anything until after he "explores the waters" with some NFL guys and gets an estimate of where he might go in the draft... seems like that's usually around March time-frame.

Yes I think the draft is in April (after the college recruiting LOI signing day) so really a junior can screw with a colleges program if they are wishy washy on going pro.

In the Independance bowl didn't we use two tight end sets? i am trying to remember if it was waller that had the big game or Pascal smith ? We were were talking bout this here in town and i thought pettigrew was the one who had a broken leg and that waller was the one who had a two big catches .

i have been a waller and pettigrew fan ever since they arrived at osu .

in regards to the tightends going into the nfl , I would think Fred Davis , Travis Beckman , and Martellus Bennett and Martin Rucker would be the first four or five tightends taken , but I would love to have Pettigrew on my joke of a nfl team and pettigrew would be a good get because te david martin couldnt catch a hooker on a park bench and Peelle well he makes pettigrew look like a pro bowler.

The Dolphins need to use all their draft picks on QB's. Maybe then they can finally find a successor to Marino. I actually think the Dolphins are perfect the way they are though. They should stick with what they are doing successfully staying at the bottom of the NFL.:D

Word around the All College Thursday night is that Pettigrew will be the top TE in the draft. I do not know what round that might equate to but I would bet the money would be enough to lure him out. Add that to losing Savage and Bowman and our offense will be looking for new leaders and stars.

I kept telling 76 he needs to come on over to the new site and start posting. But in his defense he has been pretty busy.

I sure don't want to lose Pettigrew, but you sure can't blame him for wanting to go, especially if it's in the first or second round.

This is a double edge sword here...

On one hand I want him to stay because he does have a huge impact on our gameplan and is a threat to score at any time...

On the other hand.... you want him to become successful and want another OSU family member to make it to the big league... plus he has to be worried about injury that would keep him out of the NFL ... so a lot of options...

I haven't seen any draft ratings that have him ranked that high. I bet it will depend how impressive he looks in the combine if he chooses to test his draft chances.
