This is possible in my opinion that two players that swapped jerseys mid-season may win The Cy Young, CC Sabathia, and NLMVP , Manny Ramirez.
Both have turned above average teams into postseason contenders.
Sabathia has gone 10-2, with 1.78 ERA adding much needed depth to the Brewers starting staff. He was pedestrian (6-8 3.83) in the 1st half of the season with Cleveland. As of late he has been pitching on 3 days rest as the Brewers make a gasp at the Wild Card.
His main competition would be Brandon Webb, who has faltered as his team has in late summer. As the D-backs just were eliminated today. Webb started the season. Webb is 22-7, with an offense that has gone anemic after the first two months of the season.
Since Manny came to the Dodgers, LA moved from three games behind Arizona, clinching the NL West today. All Manny has done is hit 17 home runs, and drive in 53 runs in 50 games, while hitting .398. His big bat has enabled Matt Kemp, and Andre Etheier to see better pitches and all three could end up with 20 homeruns in Dodger Blue.
While Manny's two months have been impressive it is still difficult to measure against Carlos Delgado (.278, 38 HR and 114RBI , Chase Utley (.289 33 HR and 101 RBI, and Ryan Howard's ( 47 HRs, 142 RBI, but with a .248 average) complete seasons.
Thoughts?
