I work with a woman, who's son played at Tenn, and was a 1,000 yard WR for them. I asked her about Trooper, and she loves him. She said he cares about his players, works with players parents when they are recruited. And over all a good man. Said he has a wife and 2 kids, and is a good family man. She said she could not say one bad thing about him. And coming from a parent IMO, that says something.

So thought I would give you guys some info from a explayers mom's eyes.

That's completely in line with everything else I've read about the guy. Great hire for us, in my book!

I covered her son while working in Tulsa, Robert was a quality kid and never let all the hero-worship get to him. I would have loved to see him in Stillwater. Robert and his coach, Antwain Jimmerson, were great interviews and great guys.

But I think the plague of Paperclip-fan hero-worship got to him. That is probably why he went out of state.

They had one heck of a team there with Meachem (Tenn.) Quentin Chaney (evil empire) Felix Jones (Arkansas), Chadd Evans (Tulsa), Omeke Alikor (Rice), Mark Brown (Kansas) and a host of other talented players. I think they wound up losing to Carl Albert in the 5A finals though.

He is a good guy, he came up to work before the draft, and was a very quiet guy, said thanks sir , thanks ma am, to everyone that wished him luck in the draft. Seemed very humble.

And there were a few reasons he didn't go to OU, don't want to talk about them here. But they were valid reasons.
