Creating their own Country?

What is up with this? Lakota tribe creating their own country.

I don't know how that will work but I am so tired of everyone blaming the U.S. Government for their problems. Sure the government isn't perfect but there comes a time when people need to start taking responsiblity for themselves and quit passing the buck.

Is it really the United States fault that the average life expectancy for male members of the tribe to only be 44? Does that not really relate to lifestyle choices?

Well since those five States are completely within the boundaries of the US, and they have renounced their US citizenship, I'd say those folks are now in this country without proper documentation.

If they renounced their citizenship and the treaties then I wonder where they feel like they are going to acquire the lands to form a "country". Sounds to me like they just joined the Palestinians.

Sometimes people, supposedly educated people, really amaze me.

I am in favor of the Lakota Indians!

As a Southern Californian, you would be amazed at how porous our border is, and the federal government REFUSES to do anything about it, and prohibits the state from protecting our border with Mexico.

I would be in favor of California seceeding as well, until our elected leaders get their *poo poo* togather and start representing Americans, not just American businesses (that ironicly spend half as much in lobbying as they would in taxes, if they were actually based in America)
