OSU fans can see former POSSE student staffer Megan Roberts on NBC's new reality show "Clash of the Choirs" ... Megan is part of the Oklahoma City choir, led by country singing star Blake Shelton. Megan's father, Chuck, is a member of the O-Club who ran track for the Cowboys from 1976-79.

You could pick her out in the first episode. The choir sang "Oklahoma" and at the end, she gave the "guns up" and was waiting for everyone else to yell "State".

I'll have to check that out. I've tivo'd this, but didn't know one of the choirs was from OKC.

Battle of the Chrois?? Oh man.

Sounds like they are really hurting for this writers strike to end.

My thoughts exactly. I can't believe that all of this reality crap actually has an audience.

It doesn't need much of an audience. It is rediculously cheap to produce.

Blake's choir has some stiff competition for the finals today. Nick's choir did "Flight of the Bumblebee" tonight and blew it out of the park. Patti's choir seems to channel Patti herself when they perform. I love that Blake made mention of the recent ice storm tonight, though.

I caught only today's performances and there are some high-quality performers out there. I think it gives people an opportunity that they normally wouldn't have.

Haha...I know that first girl that they spoke with from the Cincinnati choir (April Hilen)...we went to school together and graduated in the same class...she has an amazing voice...I'm honestly surprised she hasn't done anything with it before now...she used to do a lot of the musical theater stuff at our school...that's random...

I turned to it because I was reading this thread, and was surprised to see someone I know in it...

And Megan Roberts just spoke for the OKC choir, because her dad was Blake Shelton's teacher back in the day...

EDIT: and I wish I would've caught the OKC choir doing Marc Broussard's "Home"...that is one of my favorite songs...the version they did sounded pretty good....

Patti LaBelle is quite the drama queen. She also acts like she invented song and her crap don't stink.

Blake Shelton doesn't help the image of Okies when he critiques: "I didn't understand a frickin werd they said!"

I thought Blake Shelton and Micheal Bolton both come of as having some intergrity and humor.

I think Lachey might have been doing drugs when he came up with the idea of doing "Flight of the Bumblebee." It's kind of a cool stunt, but hardly a choir peice. Patti LaBelle thinks she should win *because* she is Patti LaBelle and the chick from Destiny's Child looks like she's been taking acting lessons from Paula Abdul.

Flight of the Bumblebee was pretty good last night. Risky, but they pulled it off. I got roped into watching it last night with the wife. Blake Shelton, I think, represents Oklahoma well.

I agree. Blake and the choir have done a great job representing the state. I want them to win, but I think Nick will win, as that choir has the best ensemble sound.

Who won? I stopped watching the finale tonight to watch the basketball and football games...I'm hoping for either OKC or Cincinnati...

Nick's group won. Shelton's group took 3rd.

Cool...at least if OKC didn't win, Cincinnati did...so both my hometowns were represented well...the cool thing about Nick's group was that they now get to sing back-up on one of his songs on his upcoming album, since they won...that's a very cool prize....
