View Full Version : A Beautiful Sight!
I would NEVER have believed I'd see such a thing in my lifetime when I was a student in the 70's.

I just hope Boone and I live long enough to see the upper deck filled too.
Then I may be able to let go. ;)

Wow!!! We're a long way from the rust days. I wonder who i'd have to contact to get a high resolution copy of that picture. I'd love to have a blown up copy framed in my office!

Just got home from the game and that pic really reflects what it looks a feels like, really, really beautiful.
I will have thoughts to share on the game tomorrow but one quick thing. As we went to the walk we were by the stadium and who did I see, Mike Holder. As the players and Boone were just walking out of the Union to start the walk he was by the stadium working out details and taking care of business. I have admitely not thought alot of Holder at times, but he really impressed me being out there working and taking care of business.

There are a few ticket price threads, chock full off suicidal maniacs who need to get a copy of that photo.

I just don't see 15K empty seats!!!???
Me neither.
I was sitting in the west endzone and we were by no means crammed in their like sardines, but there weren't any gaping holes to speak of, either.
I would have thought the attendance would have been somewhere closer to 50,000 - and even that might have been low, looking at that picture.
My only question is, how many of the 60,000 total are figured into the west endzone suites? I couldn't think it'd possibly be more than 2,500 (and that is probably extremely generous), so I don't know where these 15k are supposed to go...

I'm with you. I definitely never would have thought there were 15,000 empty seats there on Saturday. I was in the west end zone and it looked pretty full to me.

If you click on the link, then again on the pic, it will enlarge to the full, high resolution size.

Between the 10s is where the empty seats are. Looking at the crowd saturday night it was VERY easy to tell where donor seating began and ended. That portion of the stadium is seated more densely than the WEZ to begin with, so its not easy to tell by that picture. With the mass exodus from donor seating to the WEZ, the club seats still not selling and the corners still vacant its not suprising that we only had 45k. Hopefully we have a better crowd for Troy, but I think that we will get a better picture of the ticket sales when the cult and their dog roll in to town.

Hey verb...I'm with you, I was a student of the early 60s, no way I could fathom what I witnessed Saturday night!!!! Thanks Boone!!!
Go Pokes !!!!
Guys it looks even better in person. It feels like the first time I sat in the new GIA for the first game it reopened, but maybe even better. We are going to go places in football people, it's just a fact.

vulgar - With all due respect, NO WAY that was only 45,001 fans, NO WAY in hell. EVERYONE, including the sooner media, thinks it was way more and that we are somehow lowballing to either sell more tickets or to make a record against A&M instead of Houston.
Bottom line, it looked and sounded great. See you on Saturdays!

I may do that myself tomorrow. I'll also heavily consider getting it printed (if I would be allowed) to eventually hang in my office ... if I ever get one :(
