"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Gov. Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies. That's not the change we need; it's just more of the same," Obama spokeswoman Adrianne March said. per CNN headline news

As opposed to a socialist elitist with how many "days" experience at nothing, who would be the "heart beat"? Makes me want to puke!:vomit-smiley-001:

Why is elite a bad word?
You would think people would want an elite car, elite education, elite computer.
That goes for both candidates being accused of being elitist.

I think they are using elitism to describe people who are out of touch with the common people. Many elitists believe the common man is not smart enough to govern himself or others.
There is a fine line between being a smart leader and a leader who thinks he is the only one who knows what's best for all whom he leads.

Elite isn't. Elitism IS and elitists ARE.
"The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources."

I believe all 4 candidates, Nader, Burr, McCain and Obama are out of touch.
You almost have to be. You're talking about leader of a superpower of a country, not the shortstop of your rec softball league.
I doubt many CEOs of thriving companies know how things happen at the operation level.
I think America is a great country, but it is too large to have much accountability in government at the Federal level.

I disagree. I think any CEO worth his salt knows very much about how things actually happen at the operation level.

There has to be bureaucratic accountability at all levels. We cannot just give up, because it's easy for some to hide their actions.

Yep, and there's a big difference between the "real world" and your "la-la land".
