Trend Anti-Virus

Does anyone else have Trend Anti-Virus on their computer? I bought a Dell last year and they put this Trend Anti-Virus on my computer. Nothing opens up until it finishes loading and turns to a red icon on my taskbar. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes others it take 20 minutes. The times it takes 20 minutes I get a message that Windows has shut it down and that if the problem is reportable Windows will notify me. So in truth, it is not loading when it takes 20 minutes. Oh, I have no connectivity problems with the internet, well, until the Trend Anti-Virus quits loading.

I would like to turn it off and run it at my convenience but I think this software needs to be continually running to detect a virus. I don't know what to do. It's really frustrating. Sometimes the computer locks up after the virus runs and I have to reboot. Oh, and I have stupid Vista which probably isn't helping the problem. I do not see where Trend is in my startup but it does start running as soon as my computer boots up. Any ideas on what to do?

Go get spybot, open the tools section, and go to system start up programs, and turn it off.

I have had trend for two years now,and have had no problems at all until recently. It was what the geek squad recommended and again had been doing very well. Now thou I have a secret pop up that keeps talking to me and I can't spot it,just hear it. The trend had been detecting something called mal-Hifrm-2, and then today Troj clicker.WJ but it was unable to quarentine them. Still don't know what to do,as I'm not very computer savey about sending logs.safe mod,etc...and all that. I also installed ad-aware and spybot,but neither of them found anything. Very frustraiting. :(

I found out we were still paying for McAfee so I uninstalled Trend and loaded McAfee. McAfee has to work better than Trend. It locked up our computer for 45 minutes last night. I opened everything. Tried to reboot and it just hung up the whole computer. Good riddance.

Go here and beg for help. They are pretty good. Read all their rules before you post, they will go off on you if you don't, and they will fix your problems.

Thanks and will do. But on a good note,I haven't heard the sound since wed. night.and no popups either, it's like I finally got it or something. I dunno.

I have had zero problems since I uninstalled Trend and installed McAfee.
