Are you supposed to be dizzy when you start wearing glasses for the first time? I've already tripped on the curb :( ten steps from the glasses store.

No Storm you are not suppose to be dizzy. What kind of glasses did you get?
Bifocals or Trifocals?
They will take some getting used too but if you still feel dizzy after wearing them for a day then go back to the doctor and tell him/her so. The prescription could be wrong.

I disagree with MP. When I go from using contacts to wearing my glasses I get a little dizzy.

Me too. I also get dizzy when I first get new glasses.

Dizzy is better than running into things. Don't fret, you'll adjust in time and they will become a part of you. Later on comes Lasik and a glasses-less existence.

I've seen you trip on the curb and be dizzy but it had nothing to do with glasses.;)

Ok so maybe I am weird. (No comments from the peanut gallery :))
I have never experienced dizziness when I got new glasses. If after a full day of wearing them you are still dizzy then something could be wrong. Give it time but if it persists then go back. They are not above making mistakes in that they are only human.
I know because I dated a woman that ground lenses in one of those shops. She told me some interesting stories about what happened when workers did not pay attention to what they were doing.

Lineless bifocals. I only wore them for an couple hours yesterday. So far I'm just putting them on when I'm on the pc

Storm:
yes they will take some getting used to. Wait till you make it to the Trifocals. :D
I have the lineless also and pretty soon you notice that you just automatically adjust your eyes to look through where you are suppose to when reading or looking far away. You will experience the "Nodding head syndrome" at first but once it all comes together you will be fine.
