Please delete my reply which is currently numbered 7 in this thread:
what happened to Tatum Bell's brother ?
OK, I tried. I hope I deleted the one you wanted. I couldn't tell if you wanted post number seven or reply number seven deleted.

It was my reply that was numbered 7 and the 6th reply in the thread. I'll take a look and see what damage you did. :)
You got the wrong one. The one that is left was the one the timer stopped.
Can you recover the one you deleted and delete what is now #7?
I think when it's gone, it's gone.

It's OK. I'm working on the corrected reply when I get it posted I'll let you take another shot with your delete button.
The next to last post, Verb. It's numbered 7. Please delete it. Thanks.

Legal, you realize you can preview a post before actually posting it on the board, right?

Yes, I know, but it's a very convenient way to save what you have written while you continue your reply. I have lost text before due to power surges and lost Internet connections. It doesn't happen that often, but when it does it is very frustrating.
Again please delete my reply numbered 7, which have the pictures on the left.
Robert, I think I'm going to just leave that thread alone, since it's dropping down on the page, anyway.

That's fine. I think most people understand what happened.

...when you have unlimited "editing" periods. However when you don't have unlimited editing periods as is the case at this web site, the forums are left littered with your deleted posts.
I would think a much less obtrusive practice would just be to preview it, like the rest of the posters do.

First, thanks for jumping in, bleedorange. I can always count on you. I'm not sure what you are trying to imply, but for the most part what you are telling me, I already know. I'll try real hard to do better in your eyes.
Second, I assume your use of words 'you and your' is collective, but just in case they are directed only at me, I was not aware that I was "littering" on this site or any other. Please inform me further , if I am.

You assumed wrong. The "your" was in reference to you, exactly as it implied. All of the threads that are cluttered up with deleted posts are all by you. It really doesn't apply to anyone else since no one else deletes posts with the regularity that you do.

Well, bleedorange I was completely unaware that my practiced of deleting a post before the time expired and posting it again after further edit was leaving any trash behind.
I certainly don't doubt your word and I know this has caused you some distress that I will try to eliminate in my future practices here. Do you have a few examples of these littered threads that I have left behind for me to review? Would you please consider a PM with those links.

Thanks to the gracious PM from andyokstate, I now understand where bleedorange is coming from.
In my attempt to defeat the forum timer I have left a trail for others that I was completely unaware of.
I cannot see what you see for some reason when one of my replies is deleted by me or a moderator. I am not sure why.
As I explained to 'andy', I have to work at my writing. Writing does not always flow for me as it does for others and laboring over it at times does not help. Saving what I write while I think about it is the other problem the message boards present me. Using the OSS -Black style, which I like, presents other obstacles in communicating clearly.
I apologize to all who have had a problem with these deleted replies. I hope you understand that I was not aware that they were getting in your way in reading through the thoughts of members here.
I don't think an apology is even necessary, Robert. It's not that big a deal.
Maybe you could compose your text on a word document, and then when you're happy with it, copy and paste it to a post? Just an idea for you.

Obviously it was a big deal to one member. I had to assume it was somewhat bothersome to others who may have just sat quietly and said nothing.
Anyway Verb, on occasions I have used a Word document as you have suggested, and I will probably do it more now to save what I have written as I write, but sometimes I will get black text on the OSS - black style when I copy and paste. I'm not sure what causes that at times.
It's just one of those situations where the harder you try the more complicated it can get. I will continue to cope with your clock in a way that will hopefully not offend anyone too much again.
I’m sure of one thing and that is I intend to dramatically reduce my number of deleted posts in the future. I did say reduce, so you may still see one once in awhile when I have to nuke my notes as a last resort.

Most of the time. What? Do you sense a bit of eccentricity on my part? ;)
I'm probably what some would call eclectic in my selection of friends too.
