The alarm system did its job today. Not 30 minutes after we left for dinner, a break-in attempt on the front door, right in front of the alarm sign on the sidewalk, in broad daylight.
Police said the alarm apparently ran the individual(s) off, and no entry was made, but in a family-friendly safe neighborhood, this really hits hard. I've got neighbors who've repeatedly told us to come on over, "the back door's always unlocked."
The last several months, there have been increasing numbers of teenage punks hanging out, and when you try to make eye contact, or wave, they do not respond in kind. Rather, they avoid making eye contact. That says to me they can't be trusted.
If this place was alarmed before, it's going to be Ft. Knox when I'm through with the alarm company this week.
Gonna be a long night.
