This one flew under my radar, anyway. From the Austin American-Statesman:

Ex Tiger hoopster to play for Oklahoma St. (http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/varsitynews/entries/2007/12/12/ex_tiger_hoopst.html)

I was chewing the fat with Stony Point basketball coach Brian Route after the Tigers played a pretty competitive game against Class 4A’s fifth-ranked team Killeen, last night and he dropped this juicy morsel of info on me.

Former Tiger Dee Proby, after an 18-month detour at Angelina College, has inked to play basketball with Oklahoma State during the early signing period.

Proby, a 6-9, 250-pound sophomore, averaged 6.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in 31 games a year ago as a freshman. Through the Roadrunners’ first five games of the 2007-08 season, he is averaging 13 points and eight rebounds a game.

“Dee is a very talented front-line player that we expect to come in and contribute to our team next year,” said assistant coach Kyle Keller in a release from the OSU Media Relations. “For a strong post player, he has the ability to step out and shoot the three-point shot as well as score in the paint. His experience will also be a key addition for our front line next season.”

Yes, we signed Proby and Page. Neither are ranked in the top 150.

Proby wasn't even starting recently. Doesn't sound too promising. Now Page I think can end up being a nice player. Kind of a Manzer and Chad Alexander type player.

He has started some this season, but he is not some all star (at least not by looking at his stats). There are some games where he took more 3's then he did 2's...but then again, that alone will make him fit right in!

Proby wasn't even starting on his juco team early this season. Gulp.

I think Sean is falling in love with these big guys who have a decent outside shot, ex. Thomas, Adams, and Moses who are already on campus. We need to find a banger down low like McFarland, we have enough of these PF/C hybrids who can step out and hit long ones 30% of the time, leave that up to our guards:D

I think the closet thing we have to a true center is the kid from Berryhill. Where have all the true centers gone?

The problem with him is that he can't hit the broad side of a barn at 3 feet.

This ain't Eddie's TEAM.

It's Sean's now. How some people forget that the very thing that made oSu's basketball program successful since '91 isn't coaching anymore.

Everybody lauds on Budke's success, yet, nobody says, "Well, Goodenough would have done it THIS way."

I don't know anybody who would bring her up, well maybe JCS4OSTATE if she ever got caught wearing chaps.
