I need a little help.
Im about to reformat my home PC.
Is there a way to save all your "favorites" web addresses to a file and just install them on a new system?
I also need to copy them all to my laptop as well.
I dunno if it's practical, depending on how many you have, but I emailed all my links to myself before I got my new Mac.

I've got a question. My C drive is almost full. My kids have downloaded so much stuff on this thing over time. I have a hard time figuring out what I can trash and what I shouldn't. I deleated some stuff I shouldn't have last time I did it.
I'm such a computer dork.

Hey man,
I'm assuming that you're using IE? Probably the easiest thing to do is fire up My Computer or Windows Explorer (Window key + E). Navigate to:
C:\documents and settings\ your userid
Copy/paste the "Favorites" folder to a flash drive/CD/external drive.
Once you've reformatted your machine and installed windows, just copy that folder back to the same location. Roger presto!

I did that ONCE! Had no clue what it would do until I had nothing. I never trusted anyone with my computers after that except for my son and now my husband.

You can also do this:
With IE 7 hit alt-f to get the menus up (skip for earlier versions)
Choose File
Scroll to Import/Export and click on it
IE will launch a "wizzard" that will help you export your favorites.

Try this little program. It deletes all your temp internet files and others. You can go into the settings and customize what you want it to delete and what you want left alone. Don't worry about the donations part of it... it's totally free.

See what you think. It has a trial version that will run and let you know how much space it can free up for you if you ran the true clean up tool. Kinda neat. Oh, and turn up your sound when you first run it. Classic!!

Honestly jack I would back up everything you need to keep, and just format the computer and start fresh.
As for the original post, I would go with the wizard, it's much easier to import them back after your format.

Ivan,
I'm gonna sound pretty stupid here, but hey, you guys are like family, and you should be able to be stupid around family.
Back up everything I need on a cd? How do I know what I need or don't need? lol
Just format my computer? uhhhhhh, sounds easy.
