When I first saw a preview for it months ago I got the feeling it would suck out loud (pretty much like most of his movies lately). Although recently I saw a more extended trailer, and an interview with Murphy himself. Now I'm not so sure it will completely suck. Still don't give it much hope. Will definitely wait till it comes out on DVD and invest the $1 at RedBox to watch it.

You're right! But his own movies have been disappointments lately.

I think Eddie Murphy's only good movie (and I mean ever) might be "Coming to America".
I'm tempted to say he was pretty good in "Shrek", but I don't really think that counts...

The first Beverly hills cop was his best movie.

Coming to America was Great! So many Quotables from that movie.
"I met Dr. Martin Luther King once, he knocked me out"
"Oh that is just a man I met in the bathroom"
The Queen-to-be song.
I dug the first Nutty Professor. Never saw the sequels. His kids movies are not my cup of tea.
One of the most underrated comedies to me was Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin in Bowfinger.
The funy thing is, he has tried to do alot of kids/family movies. Just with little success.

With $55 million, Eddie Murphy comes in third among Tinseltown's top earners, thanks to a slew of family-friendly hits. The long-reigning master of disguise continues to prove his range on- screen, playing notable roles in everything from animated flicks ("Shrek") to goofball comedies ("Norbit") to musical remakes ("Dreamgirls"). The latter earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
He must be doing something right.;)

I actually kind of enjoyed "Daddy Day Care", or whatever it was called.
