You will be surprised at how much you will follow this team. It may take a year or two before the team starts competing, but having a winning team in a major league changes alot.

I am a casual Laker fan at best. But when they started winning again this year, after the Pau Gasol trade, I was excited about bringing a championship to my city. I wanted to have the all night celebration and the parade.

Congrats Oklahoma, it will be funner than you imagine. It's probably not worth the cost, and there are alot better things to spend money on, but welcome to the big leagues.

Judging at how OKC supported the Hornets, I believe the rest of the country will be surprised at the success.

The three Lakers I met in person: Fisher, Turiaf and Luke Walton made me bigger Laker fans than anything Kobe ever did. Keep yours eyes open not for the superstars, but for the solid guys that would bust their butt on the court, and support the community.

Culture shock....There's lots of stuff to do here. Rattlesnake huntin, tornado chasin, cow tippin. You guys haven't lived yet!

Having lived in five countries, as well as in several major U.S. cities, i.e..NY, Chicago, & Miami, IMO Tulsa and OKC can essentially hold their own. Sure there is a wider range of events going on but a lot of the cities boil down to area cultural events that represent various ethnic groups which you can find in abundance by taking an hour on a weekend and driving to a small town. My wife and I now travel short distances to see Hungarian, Yugoslavic, et al events where in the city you would spend the same time fighting traffic. Go figure. Glad to be back in Oklahoma...gp pokes...
