Anyone know the story on J. Lewis?

Well he is not listed on the roster that just came out so he must be off the team, but I have not heard anything as to why? Not a position we can afford to lose people at...

I believe Lewis and Gundy, etc. all mutually talked things out and JL told them, in some way, he was no longer interested in playing football. Doesn't sound like a negative parting of ways or anything, to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks...also note Secrest kid from Stillwater ( was a RS -F ) is
not listed on the team roster???
Just weren't going to get PT or grades, or what on Lewis and Secrest?

Secrest may be an injury-related omission, but I'm not 100% on that.

They must have just updated the roster because I looked last week and only one true freshman was listed and that was Markelle Martin. Now it looks like most of the freshman are listed.

OSUFAN I hope that wasnt true about the Davis kid. i am getting tired of seeing our players on the police arrest log.
I sure hope that losing Lweis and the linebacker Adams was it ? doesnt hurt us depth wise. it almost seems like we always have a injury issue at linebacker for the last five years.
as for off the field issues, I think the judge should make these guys pick up trash along side the highways.

It was true about Davis, was in the Newspress last night. Using another players ID to get into a bar then lied to the cop about who he was.

Yep... it's Summer... not a lot of good news..
WR Davis arrested
DT Lewis left the team
OT Seacrest left the team
LB Dupree didn't qualify
PF Adams left the BB team
but hey, at least we did pick up a no-named guy from a no-named JUCO to really help the BB team out!!
Cross your fingers that Gundy can bring in another guy in the off season like Morency, or Weeden.
... and we've got a whole month to go before reporting day.
Ugh....when you lump it all together like that, it's not too encouraging, is it?

M. Richardson was the LB who left the football team; M. Adams is the MBB player who has been granted his release. Davis being arrested is for an arguably minor offense, but he'll get plenty of punishment from Brewer and Gundy. Still, it's been a rough summer in the OSU sports news department, IMO.
Additionally, I'm not sure if you can count Secrest as "off the team". Not sure that's accurate. Hoping Cactus could elaborate on that, possibly.

Pretty basic summertime news really. A few players always leave....someone gets in a little trouble. Hopefully this will be it and there will be no gang fights, dui's, etc,etc.....

I am not sure if we had this kind of troube last summer but it sures seems like we are always having depth issues on defense . Last year osu had how many players in trouble ? We should keep records of this just so we can gage our depth and other issues if there any.

We're still due the annual Langston-OSU Spring Sing.

Exactly. It's par for the course, at nearly every school in the country, no matter how bad anyone tries to make it seem.

Actually, considering the number of athletes at OSU, there hasn't been much bad news yet, and the good news (including new player commitments and new donations) far outweighs the bad news--so far!
The junior college you diss made it to the Final Four, according to another poster, and had at least six players that got Div 1 offers.
The JUCO forward from that team should help us more than Adams would have.
Of course you're right that we have more of the summer to go, so here's to hoping we continue to have more good news than bad!
