Thanks. What's so scary about you guys? Can't be scarier than my awesome OSU jinxing abilities. (I should draw a salary to NOT watch OSU sports.)

Maybe a rough ride better describes it here at times.
Welcome, O' Sis of Verb. Are you an older or younger sister?
She's the younger and prettier sister. But she really IS an OSU jinx. If the Cowboys are playing something on TV, she has to go outside and wait in the garage until the game is over. She's not allowed to watch. In fact, it's best if she doesn't even KNOW there's a game!

From now on I say you are not a jinx to oSu sports.
Pretty girls should never be a jinx. :D
There's got to be some way we can make her a jinx to...well, that other school, instead.

Have you ever tried having her don a red shirt or an OU hat, or better yet, paint half her face white and the other red prior to and during bedlam games?

there is no such thing as a jinx... I've watched many a Poke wins and losses, and never once did I believe that anybody other than the coaches and players (and opponents) had anything to do with it.
Enjoy the games, enjoy being a Poke.
Besides, you'd only be a jinx until the first time that you're not, and you wouldn't want to miss that opportunity, so please watch.

You're a wise man, CC.
Na, he's just no fun. ;)
Maybe he has a different view point on superstitions.
I had a few when I was playing competitive sports.

Welcome aboard, so to speak.
I too have dealt with the jinxing demons. Cali is right, keep watching. The jinx breaker is always the sweetest(mine was the 97 Colorado game, though I felt I brought it back with the Mizzou game that year). As long as your having fun, then it's all good:food-smiley-004:
But just for safe measures, here are some common jinx deflectors.
1. Favorite gameday shirt- The easiest of the bunch(I also have a hat but some gals don't like that). Deem an orange shirt lucky at the begining of a season and wear it every game. One week in between games is plenty of time to get it through the wash.
2. Favorite gameday drink- Another easy one. Follow rule number 1.
3. If watching on TV and we're doing bad, try changing the channel just for an instant while we're playing and then changing back. It seems like some sort of cleansing ritual when I do it.
4. Last but not least and the biggest of all, every year try to make at least one away game. The football gods really like that one
Again, welcome to the board sissy(destined to be your new handle)

So do believe in a jinx or not?
I think I know where you can get some bird bones with a few pretty stones in a leather bag to shake and throw.:D

I like the jinx deflecting tips.
I must give some thought to creating new rituals to bring on good luck. Maybe I will put on my clothes backwards (to turn luck around?)....or sing the Alma Mater song with the utmost reverence, not going off key on that last note....

Verb can help me stay on key...she's a music pro.
Verb, I will never forget the rendering of the National Anthem that we delivered at the cold-as-heck football game last fall....was that game against Texas A & M? Anyway, I think we made an impression. Maybe not the kind we are proud of!

So you two use to sing together for quarters on the street.

That wasn't our fault. Our vocal cords were frozen.

Just a little side note. Turning things around backwards, is in baseball not football. So long as you don't inter-mingle the jinx deflectors, you should be fine.
And legel, to answer your question, yes I do believe in jinx, but I also believe in breaking them. :party-smiley-018:

OK, but I'm not sure if CC believes in a jinx or not, because of his contradicting statements above.

you owe me one. :food-smiley-004:
I was confused by Stupidstions when I was young, but I'm not either anymore.
I don't concern myself with ladders, black cats, broken mirrors, etc...
but I did forget to mention refs affecting the game... :)

I am new at this message board thing too. They are kind to you during the first few posts then hang on for the ride.
Mrs. BBB
When people get a look at the great-looking t-shirt designs she's come up with for us, I'm pretty sure she'll get the royal treatment.
They are gorgeous, and we're going to try to get them displayed so you can vote on which one we go with. You're gonna love 'em. (And her, too, of course!)
