He played with Kurland on the 1946 NCAA Championship. He also fought in Europe and was wounded before his college days.

Verb, thanks for the kind words. It's too bad that lately, it seems like the only time one of the great OSU names from the past comes up, is when that person dies.

those of the "greatest generation" are leaving us rapidly, my dad died 4 years ago at 83 and now none of his friends his age are living, but for that matter I have 2 pledge brothers die

It's too bad that lately, it seems like the only time one of the great OSU names from the past comes up, is when that person dies.
I was thinking the same thing when a started this thread, casdas. I wonder how many are still with us from the 1945 and 1946 teams. I knew two of them personally. One was Sam Aubrey who passed away on the 5th of May this year and the other who was also my coach, Doyle Parrack.
The last time I talked to Doyle was on the stairs of the Oklahoma County Court House Annex many years ago. I hope someone here knows how he is doing.
