Ok gang,I got a movie question for ya. I'm on vacation this week, and wanna catch up on some movies while bumming around. Well if I get to see some of the blockbusters that I have never seen, what should I see? Now I'll be going to the theaters also, but for rentals, what series should I see? Please send me your thoughts/suggestions, now here are the choices of the ones I haven't seen.
.
Indiana Jones/Raiders of the lost ark movies= Never seen any of em,and figure I'd be better to see these before the new one.
.
Pirates Of The Carribian series= Never seen em,but I usually like Johnny Depp stuff.
.
Lord Of The Rings= Never seen any of these, but not that big on the fantasy stuff, but maybe I'd like?
.
Harry Potter= Have not seen a one of these, but I loved the Spiderwick chroniacals which I'm guessing is similar. Still this would be alot of movies to see in a week,so one of the shorter series might be better.
Ok,your thoughts on these,or any other must sees?
Thanks

For those series, in order I'd go:
Indiana Jones - The first two are the best, 3rd not so much, and new I haven't seen, but it's old school for me so I'm putting it at the top.
Potter - I didn't read the books but I've seen the movies and they are done well with good effects.
Pirates - They're ok but I wouldn't tie my vacation up in watching them.
Lord - Oh Lord it is bad. I never read the books so I'm sure it doesn't help, but the ones I've seen I just don't "get".

Indiana Jones - The first one is the best, the second was atrocious, the third I enjoyed because it introduces Sean Connery as Indiana's dad; the fourth one I haven't seen yet.
Lord of the Rings - I had never read any of the books but thoroughly enjoyed the films.
Pirates and Potter - I would skip. I wasn't impressed with any of the movies.

Watch the first from each of these series. The first is the best in all of them.
And I've read the LotR books and seen all the movies and can tell you that you still would need a reference for what is going on unless you have a photographic memory. It is a very complicated story and has a lot going on, which can turn off those people who don't want to have to think during movies. They're not a typical blockbuster action movie or anything.

Really depends on what you enjoy watching. If you like action/adventure go for Indiana Jones movies. Then probably the Pirates of C movies.
If you like way out Sci Fi/mythical go for the Lord of Rings movies. I have not read the books but these are hard films to follow unless you pay close attention. But they are entertaining when you get into them.
If you like general entertainment and can get lost in a fantasy story then go for the Potter movies. I have read all the books here and by and large the movies follow the books.
Probably the best advice is to view each of the first movies of the groups and then base your decision from there.

Don't waste your time on those low budget, boring films.
Go rent "Used Cars", and watch it three times a day for the entire week.
You won't be sorry.
Enjoy the vacation.

Indiana Jones, I say watch 1 and 3 don't waste time with 2 it was bad...
Pirates, same thing 1 and 3 are good but 2 was not bad but not really that good either...
Lord of the Rings, I didn't read the books but loved 1 and 3 although 3 had like 14 endings to it and when the first time I saw it was at an IMAX and it ended at like 2 AM then it gets long...
Harry Potter, I've only seen the first two so I've lost track...

Heck, we could just tell you how all the movies end and then you wouldn't have to worry about renting anything. ;)

Don't waste your time with the Lord of the Rings. Good movies if you are intothat kind of thing, but BBB tortured me into watching all 15 hours of them in one week. That's way too much Frodo for anybody.
If you are going to the movies, recommend the new Hulk movie. I took my mother in law and she liked it. She didn't get the references to the old tv show, now she wants to see Iron Man.
