Does anyone use it for downloading songs?

I did about 4-5 years ago, but I quit just before the lawsuits started. Anymore, the vast majority of my music comes legally from the iTunes music store.
There is a subscription-based version of Limewire out now, though, isn't there? If so, I've never used it.

Dude, you will catch more viruses in there than in a Kansas City whore house.
Don't do it.

Try using bittorrents if you must download songs, or tv shows.
Yeah just use torrents or use Google.

Or don't steal stuff and pay for it like a decent person. Do you shoplift too?

Ought oh. Moral police! Maybe you should make that argument to the RIAA who steal from the artists right in front of their face? You can thank them for the fact that most bands don't make money on record sales but by concerts and selling merchandise. Pirating music doesn't hurt the artist.

To be honest, I had no idea what limewire was. My son is asking for a new ipod for his birthday and he mentioned limewire so I thought I could get him a year's subscription to it or gift card to download songs. No, I don't steal. The 800+ songs I have bought from itunes would tell you that. He may just have to use itunes like the rest of the family.

I used limewire before, about 5 years ago. Before I knew it, my computer was loaded with spyware & addware.
It corrupted my system.
The same thing has happened to a couple other people I know.

Limewire is a free peer 2 peer program (similar to Kazaa and the original Napster). Anything you read on the net about Limewire costing money is for their "pro" version of the software which just has some extra features and bumps up your download speeds. Purchasing the software will not keep the RIAA from knocking if they catch you despite all the sites that try to scam you to buy it by saying otherwise. Plus, a large percentage of the music on Limewire is files being shared by companies hired by the RIAA and the songs are filled with white noise.

Just used it to D/L Eddie Vedder's "Into the Wild" soundtrack, and have a fully functional Dell still running smooth, knock on wood.
That is an EXCELLENT cd. (Personally, I just bought the cd at Best Buy. I'm an old-fashioned kinda music consumer, I guess.)
