Awaiting Goodell's presser after his 3+ hour meeting w/ former Pats video assistant, Matt Walsh. Based on the coverage being delegated to the events leading up to the P.C. and the coverage of the event itself, something big could be on the horizon. Or it could be as Mike Florio humorously quipped, much more like Geraldo opening up Capone's vault.
Either way, the tapes are out now and being broadcast on visual media all over the internet and TV airwaves. Doesn't look good for Bill "Beeleechick". The meeting was only supposed to be about an hour in length. Ouch.

I thought Goodell's office had seen all the tapes before the Pats and their Head Coach got their fines.

Looks like no new developments.

The most scandalous thing on tape, close ups of the Chargers cheerleaders.

Incorrect, Snow. Here's some new stuff you may have missed that wasn't disclosed when Commissioner Goodell initially learned about Walsh, his video stash, etc.
1. The new allegation of a player for New England practicing while on IR.
2. The allegation of 8-12 tickets to the Super Bowl in a two-year period being distributed to players on the Patriots roster.
Earth shattering or as damning as the tapes? Likely not. The interesting thing that happens next, for me, is whether or not the Boston Herald retracts their statement about their "source" opining on the existence of the Rams Super Bowl walkthrough tape. They printed that and ran with it, and have stood by it...and now it seems as if it were all a flight of fancy (translation: B.S.).
But let's be honest: the Panthers, Rams, and Eagles are ALWAYS going to be wary of the Patriots and the legitimacy of their Super Bowl victories over the aforementioned teams. And they have every right to be.

Those are small potatos when it comes to the allegations of them taping the Rams walk-through. While they are damaging, it's nothing new to the tape scandal itself, which is what I was addressing.

I believe if anyone wants to shut the Patriots up, or take attention away from them, they should try SCORING more points, and not get wrapped up in the minutia of the video crap.

Dude the Pats beat the Rams by a last second field goal. If they had filmed the walk through of the Rams it woulda been huge, no different than getting a copy of test the night before the exam. It was worth looking into.

how about if Goodell were to stop kissing kraft's butt . belicheat is a cheater and goodell is in bed with kraft. This whole thing seems like a coverup to me and others. the bills , steelers and rams fans and dolphin fans are not buying this garbage . why ? because Goodell was promoted by kraft and he tried to fix the giants -pats game. even after the game goodell was pissed that the patriots loss and that seems like proof to me and some of us beleive that goodell paid this clown off and if that isnt strange then there really is something wrong here. tapes dont just dissapear without a little tampering.
I think it is time to impeach the commish , for he is as corrupt as bud selig
but if i take off the aqua color glasses i can see that nothing probally happened bu still something is shady about this commish.

Are you familiar with the Herald? It isn't exactly a high caliber paper. I would pick one up for free every now and then at South Station in Boston and just chuckle to myself as I flipped through the pages.
Here's a recent story on the Herald: http://www.editorsweblog.org/newsrooms_and_journalism/2008/04/us_tabloid_boston_herald_hasnt_given_up.php

Precisely why I said it would be interesting to see if they issued a retraction or not...which they have done. The retraction is really going to aid in revitalizing that subscription base your link was discussing, don't you think? For the record, I am being sarcastic, just so we're on the same page.
Thanks for posting.

Roger Goodell and corrupt do not have any business being in the same sentence. I hate the effing Pats, make no mistake, but you want to boot the best Commish the League has had in its existence? Think Rozelle or Tagliabue would have had the stones to fine Belichick and his team, which happens to be one of the more popular and well-publicized franchises? Would they suspend thug punks like Pacman or Chris Henry (or any other notable jailbird Bengal, for that matter)? Would they take away draft picks? What about the Personal Conduct Policy? Think they would have implemented that?
You're free to bash Goodell, but I think you really have no understanding of the NFL's history and its commissioners if you want to throw the current boss overboard. I don't even know the man, but I do know he's better than any alternative at this point in time.

Interestingly, they issued an apology:
