All this down time and the remeber when's we have been doing got me me thinking about my the first concert I went to. I was 12 and it was the Beach Boy's at Six Flags over Mid-America (St.Louis). Besides really great music my Dad started talking about his time in High School and when he joined the Air Force to get away from the farm. I still love the Beach Boy's to this day because it reminds me of my Dad and the relationship we have, lots of great memories.

What was your first concert or one that gave you a life time of memories?

Saw Ian Moore at the Wormy Dog Concert Hall for my first club show. Saw AC/DC at the Myriad for my first arena show. First outdoor concert was the "Rock Never Stops" tour at the Zoo Ampitheater featuring Slaughter, Quiet Riot, Night Ranger, and Ted Nugent.

First real concert was Ted Nugent with Pat Travers as the opener. Lloyd Noble center in 1982. Sat 3rd row, center stage and only cost $10.50.

Ok, I know I am going to catch heck for this but:

Lionel Richie - Dancing on the Ceiling - I think it was at the Myriad.

Man, back in the day, that was an awesome show.

Eagles in 1980, The Long Run tour at the Incomparable Myriad in OKC

That was followed closely by Cheap Trick at the Norman Mausoleum.

I have NO recollection of Cheap Trick. We got in with enough pints stuffed into our pants to stock Byron's Liquor. Ugh. I STILL can't taste Southern Comfort without starting to hum Surrender.

That's really funny, my 1st concert was around the same age and it was the Beach Boys after an 89ers game.

Rightgeous Brothers at Springlake Amusement Park in OKC. Circa 1965-1966.

Outdoor concert. Doubled dated with a good friend of mine. He had a nicer car. We all sat on a blanket about 20 ft from the stage. Great concert. But for the life of me I can not remember who the girl was that I was with.

They were not as big at that time as they later became. Walked up and shook hands with them after the show.

Maybe that's why you can't remember her. It sounds like she was a late bloomer. :D

First one, Seals and Croft at the Myriad. Most memorable would be Miami Sound Machine in Anaheim. It was in a theater in the round and 90% of the crowd was latino so Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine were playing to "their people" and made it really personal and the fans were crazy... dancing in the aisles, etc.

Technically my first was when I was a kid and went with my parents to see Buck Owens at the state fair. My first real concert was Cheap Trick in 1981 at the Kansas Collisium in Wichita.

Doobie Brothers @ the Myriad ("Oh black water, keep on rollin") in 1976. Bob Seger opened for them wearing a purple florescent fur vest. That was right before he was huge. The Doob's had the Nashville Brass performing with them and it ruined about half their songs. I think I still have a contact high from that show.

Nirvana with The Breeders and Shonen Knife opening up in '92 at the TNT Building at the Fairgrounds.

The next show I saw was Life of Agony and Carcass, which was my first club show and the reason I fell in love with seeing bands in smaller venues.

Cheap Trick opened for Journey- Myriad in OKC- 1982 maybe? At least i remember it. I don't remember Tom Petty/ZZTop. I couldn't tell you anything about that one. I was carried out of there, and my pals let me sleep under the table at the Kettle while they ate breakfast.

My most memorable was in 2000, the summer before my son's senior year. We took a road trip across the country to Cadott Wisconsin for a 4 day country music festival. (Countryfest) Just him and i. We had the best time ever with a huge group of people we met from Iowa. I'll never forget it.

My first concert...Beach Boys after a Tulsa Roughnecks game, with my parents at Skelley Stadium as a 5 year old on 4th of July ( I believe)

One of my mom's friends took me to see Guns & Roses at the Myriad in OKC in 8th grade. She was Axl's aunt...got backstage...pretty cool

My first unparented concert, was Warrant 9th grade at the Expo Square Pavillion. (I'm a dork)

My most memorable concert was Nine Inch Nails right before I took the ACT, got my highest score...no pun intended a 28, the next day.

My last concert was Lighter Shade of Brown and Cypress Hill on Cinco de Mayo!

My next concert was Kanye West and Rhianna at Staples Center

Best Live performance either Green Day, Guns N Roses or Nirvana.

I was there too!

I couldn't remember if it was Lucious Jackson or Breeders opening up.

as I recall, it was about 6 months before Kurt Cobain (realized he was married to Courtney Love) and committed suicide. :(

First real concert was Stryper at the Brady Theater in Tulsa. Right in front of the amps. Still the loudest concert I've ever been too. Ears rang for 2 solid weeks afterwards. Great show, though.

That reminds me of a concert I went to at the Cotillion Ballroom in Wichita. I was never a hug heavy metel fan but I went to see Wasp,Armored Saint, and Metallica and it was deffinatly the loudest concert I have ever been too. By the this was like '83 or '84 and Metallica was the least known band their. Wasp was the headliner.

My first concert was Dave Matthews Band in Dallas at the Starplex (now it's the Smirnoff Centre) in 1998. It was actually a crazy show as crickets took over. I'm not kidding, crickets were overtaking the venue. They were attracted to the lighting rig and kept jumping all over the stage and messing with the band. Finally, it became too much for the drummer and he tossed his sticks and walked off of the stage. The jam at the end of Jimi Thing just kind of died and the rest of the band just kinda noodled around. They went into an inpromtu Spoon and got the drummer to come back on stage. After that, they turned on all of the house lights to keep the crickets from focusing on the lighting rig. They played the rest of the show with the lights on, it was a cool first concert experience.

I was also at the Roughnecks game that had a Beach Boys concert afterwards. That was probably my first concert.

First one I went to on my own was Depeche Mode at Reunion Arena in Dallas in October 1993.

I'm going to see Radiohead in Dallas next weekend and I'm really looking forward to it.

Lol, Wasp. I saw them open for Ozzie back in the day. Blackie had a mouth on him, that's for sure.

I saw Metallica for the 1st time with Ozzy after Puppets came out. I've seen then over 2 dozen times.

Saw Tallica headline with Queensryche opening - great show.

Saw Tallica and Guns in Las Cruces with Faith No More opening. Amazing total show. This was like the 1st show after James got blown up on stage; John Marshall played guitar while James sang.

Saw Ratt so long ago Bon Jovi opened up for them.

Saw Journey/Starship/Night Ranger; great concert.

Kiss/Winger/Slaughter; also great.

Motley Crew/Warrant was pretty good.

Seen Poison several times - always VERY good.

Seen Bon Jovi lots - best was prolly with Skid Row opening.

I saw a rock festival in Tulsa one year (forget year or name) but it had Lita Ford and Malmsteen and I think Kingdom Come. Sammy Hagar was one of the openers. He kept running off stage after every set. We all figured he was getting his groove on. When he came to Tulsa next was 5150 with Van Halen and he admitted he had had the shits and ran off stage after every song to take a dump.

Saw Cheap Trick at GIA and later Garth at GIA. Both were excellent.

Saw White Lion/Stryper; was suprisingly awesome.

Seen tons of country concerts. Randy Travis is always the best. He toured one year with Alan Jackson and Shannondoah (sp) was one of the better ones.

Saw Ozzy/Alice in Chains at the fairgrounds.

Saw Tesla/Firehouse at the ampitheater. Excellent show. Was just as the live acoustic album had come out. While he was singing the Love Song, Jeff was sticking his hand out in the audience and touching the girls. Apparently his HS ring fell off or was taken. He stopped the show and was yelling at everyone to lock the gates down because, "No mutha f*cker is leaving this gawd d*amned show until I get my mutha f*ckin Idabel class ring back!" About 30 seconds later, it was found, he holds it up and is pretty much in tears and he says, "Now I know everything is cool... everything is going to be alright, because.... 'I know...." and the band took his queue and started up the ending bridge of Love Song where he is going "I know... ,do do do, I know..." Was completely inasne yet magical all at the same time.

I was at that concert too. Likewise, I barely remeber the ride home. I awoke to go to school the next day with a major hangover (I swore never again) and my neck covered in hickies. A girl in my Chemistry class say me and called me a "whore".

Technically my first was when I was a kid and went with my parents to see Buck Owens at the state fair.

Mine was technically when my parents drug me to a Lawrence Welk concert and the State Fairgrounds Arena. I was 13 and they made me wear a suit and tie.

My first real concert was Van Halen after their second album at the Civic Center. I think it was Summer of 1979. My ears rang for a full day.

First one, as I recall was Jimmy Buffet with my mom at the Zoo Amphitheater. I was 12 and remember some biker guy sitting behind us asking me if I wanted a "hit" and tried to pass me a doob. We were with a large group of people and I couldn't believe it now that I'm old enough and think about it.

My first one sans Parents was the Whitesnake show at the Fairgrounds during the fair around 1988.

Best concert was Kiss in 2000 or 2001 at the Ford/Myriad. 3rd row center with my face painted like Gene Simmons. Caught a pick tossed from Ace Frehley. Still have that pick and a few streamers that were shot out from cannons. I don't ever remember seeing so many boobs at a concert before.

71' Frank Zappa and the Mothers Invention, OKC Fairgrounds, Transportation Building. My mom dropped us off, general seating (standing) around the stage.

72' Friend had 2 xtra tickets to see Humble Pie at the Fairgrounds. Had a good time but never was much of fan.

First concert at the brand new Myriad was Neil Young and Crazyhorse. Set on the top row. OKC officials vowed, no more rock concerts at the Myriad.

1st official 68-69' timeframe: Conway Twitty at Springlake, Mom and her girlfriend took the kids for a day of fun and puking.

Was the NIN concert the one with Manson opening and Jim Rose Circus as the intermission act?

And I just saw The Breeders at SXSW this year and man what a disappointment. Other than Last Splash stuff being still awesome, all their new stuff was not good.

First musician I ever saw perform live was Rick Cua at Silver Dollar City back in 1992. My first real concert wasn't until a a year or two later (I think 1995) when I saw Carman at Fair Meadows.

Since then, I have been busier and have seen in concert:

Mark Lowry (along with a couple of other Christian comedians)
Sierra
Petra
Dog's Eye View (@ OP)
Blackhawk (@ OP) -- caught a guitar pick from the keyboard player
Some band at the Weed the year Randy Travis was at OP (was a major name band at the time but can't remember right now)
Sara Evans twice (once w/ Brad Paisley @ the Weed's Catfish Fry; once @ the Tulsa State Fair)
Gary Allan
Evanescence with Depswa and one other band (can't remember the name right now)
Mandy Moore

I am sure there are others, but my memory is a little sketchy right now

My first unsupervised concert was Slaughter at the old lady on brady.

saw Nirvana and Breeders at TNT.

Pearl Jam in OKC

Metallica and suicidal tendencies,Candlebox at OKC Fairgrounds/raceway?

Smashing pumpkins in tulsa, Bush in Tulsa, Goo Goo Dolls in Tulsa.

Saw Kings X and The Foo fighters at the Cains (an awesome venue and 2 good concerts)

Monster Magnet and some others at the old 89ers stadium. My wife liked this one because the lead singer of MM exposed himself.

Was at Rockfest at Dallas Motor Speedway (hottest damn day of my life) but good time.

Poison at the zoo.

All of the edgefests in the 90's in tulsa.

Hands down the best concert of my life was Edgefest in Tulsa when BECK was there. Beck put on the absolute best concert EVER.
