Grobe has turned down Arkansas, they are to number 5, they may turn to Herring, Fedora's name may surface, Malzahn name may surface, heck Jeff Bowers would be a good choice.

I believe Reggie Herring would be a great candidate for a head coach. He won't inspire alot of name recognition or glitzy name like Houston was. But, I think he would be great for Arkie

Wow... I guess with the fact that Arkansas will lose McFadden and most likely Felix Jones to the NFL and the loss of their starting QB, solid WR (Monk), and various defensive guys coaches are not seeing the upside to going to Arkansas.

Or maybe is it because the way they handled the Houston Nutt deal and how they had the "Oh we are behind him 100% oh wait ... no we aren't.... oh wait yes we are...oh wait...." approach. :o

I was in Little Rock yesterday and talked with some Razorback folks. They have in their mind that Arkansas is the dream location for the top name coaches in the college ranks. Because they are customers I just kept my mouth shut and nodded and talked in general terms. I am not sure that they realize that they are not USC, Notre Dame, Flordia, Texas, uO, tOSU, Michigan, etc.

In unison they all agreed that Houston Nutt had to go, though.

Felt like saying to them: Can y'all spell: D E N I A L ?

If I was there AD, I would call Jeff Bowers. He won with a lot less, did it right, and left when SoMiss refused to upgrade. At this point, he would be the best fit

I found this article, that was in the Thursday Arkansas Democrat, to be almost comical.

http://www2.arkansasonline.com/news/2007/dec/06/arkansas-still-coachless-search-beginning-resemble/?sports

“I’m just kind of embarrassed, personally,” said Anthony Lucas, a former Arkansas receiver who lives in Little Rock, after the Razorbacks again failed to get their man. “I just hate what’s going on with this up there. I don’t understand why we can’t find a coach.

“I don’t understand why a coach wouldn’t want to take this job. As a (Southeastern Conference) school, of course, I know our fans are a little tough. But it’s one of the greatest schools in America.”

Ahhh.....Ok, if that is your opinion????

Butch Davis, a former Arkansas player, said Thursday he won’t talk with other schools about jobs and will return for his second season at North Carolina.

“I hope they hire a good coach. I really do,” Davis said of Arkansas. “I hope as an alum they hire and find somebody that does as good or better than Houston Nutt. I think Houston Nutt did an excellent job there. They were very competitive.”

Coach speak for my Alma Mater may have screwed up.
