Last I heard, he was staying because he wanted to finish college. But that was a bit ago.

So you hold a press conference to say you are staying in school?

A bit arrogant isnt it?

Loudest applause provided by the Stream...

Oh well it was probably the best decision for him, he needs to work on some of his offense, like developing a shot from 10 feet...

Staged or not, does it really matter? I remember an OSU player holding a press conference saying he was staying in school to get his education rather than go pro. What is the difference between the 2 different players from 2 different schools doing the same thing? Rather than saying it was staged or bashing him, why not say that's great that he thinks his education is more important than earning tons of money in the pros?

I am a fan of both schools. I know this is the OSU board, but aside from being rivals, Blake should be commended for knowing his education is more important, just like the OSU player was. Don't get me wrong, I love both schools. I'm not a gooner, just standing up for a kid who believes his education is more important. That's the bottom line.

Shari,

If Blake leaves at the end of next year, do you think he stayed for his education or because of a possible higher draft status? I think his education is secondary. He knows his injuries hurt his draft status and he is returning for one reason only -- more money from the NBA next year. And unless he graduates in two years, he will still be lacking his college degree.

So, I guess the fact that so many doctors come out of OU isn't of any relevance, not to mention all the other professions? Just because someone goes to OU doesn't mean they are goons. Just because someone plays sports for OU doesn't mean they are goons. There are some great kids playing different sports at OU. And a lot of them chose OU because of the education they can get there while playing the sport or sports they have been blessed by God to be able to play.

No, going to uo does not mean they are goons, they are goons because they are goons. Going there has nothing to do with it. Hell most of the goons I know have never stepped foot on campus; unless it was a Saturday in the Fall. Then there are ten's of thousands of them.

And without question, if you play or coach a collegiate sport down there in that hell hole, you are definitely a goon, of the highest magnitude. You can get an education anywhere, you can only be a goon in snorman, or in your goon clothing purchased at Wal-Mart.

And, no, Annie, I'm not expecting anyone to sing praises to me. I was simply pointing out that he wants to further his education, which got praises for an OSU player, by the way. I could care less if any of yall like OU. That is of my least concern. I don't care what yall think of OU. But, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. For someone that "could care" less, you're sure posting alot about it. It seems to be a big concern.

As for praises for the OSU player who did it, i can damn sure promise you the ou boards weren't praising this player, so why you're crying about it here is a litle odd.

You think we are narrow minded here? Maybe you need to go hang out on the goon board and get you a taste of that. You'll see what a real goon is.

I think it is arrogant & stupid for any student, regardless of his school to have a press conference to announce he is returning to school.

It should be understood that you are going to fullfill your obligation of a 4 year scholarship.

Now, if he was leaving early, thats news. Staying in school isnt news, and should be expected.

I don't care what you think of OU. What I care about is that this kid has chosen to stay in college rather than go pro and he is being ridiculed for it. That is the point I've been trying to make. Education is more important than going pro.

And yes, I did say Cowdud. You know, as opposed to Cowboy. Kind of like Sooner/Gooner, instead Cowboy/Cowdud.

Maybe I will go to a SOONER board instead of this one. At least they aren't as rude as you are to people. So much for thinking I could do both boards and support both teams. I guess liking both schools just isn't allowed around here.

I've really held my tongue for quite a while with one person in particular on here, but the rudeness and disrespect that person tends to show a few people on here has been enough for me. One thing my parents have taught me is to always be respectful of others. When I see people being disrespectful, I can only take so much of it before I say something. Well, that so much has come. Now, I've said my peace, so I am done.

Well, someone has finally shown their true colors. I knew you had it in you. Oh come on, at least be a stand up person about it. You want to call me out, mention my name. Be a woman about it. The whole "this person is a big ol meanie" won't hold water with me. Let's be real honest here. You have made snide remarks to me since i stepped up to your step daddy for acting like he did. In this thread alone, two other people made the "goon" reference before i even posted in the thread, yet you chose to call me out on it, and quote my posts throughout the entire thread. It's comical. I laugh every time i open this thread. I'm laughing at you, not with you.

At least i'm honest enough to say that i don't care what you like or don't here. Your opinion doesn't matter to me. The majority of us are family here, so a few bad apples (and their family members) aren't going to change that.

So there it is. There's you some honesty. I could go on about other issues from the past, but i'm going to take a higher road. I'm really tired of the drama that comes from your entire family.
