You gotta have a...montage! :-)

I was curious if some reporter would get in Self's face outside the locker room and ask about the OSU job (and if he would have a Roy Williams, "I don't give a crap about them" moment). Did that happen?

Self wants to stay at Kansas but won't rule out talking to alma mater

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com news services

SAN ANTONIO -- After leading Kansas to its first NCAA title in 20 years, Bill Self said he hopes to stay with the Jayhawks.

The newly crowned national championship coach wouldn't rule out listening to an offer from Oklahoma State, where Sean Sutton resigned under pressure April 1, however.

"That's my alma mater," Self said as he left the interview room after Kansas' 75-68 overtime victory over Memphis on Monday night. "I know people down there. But they haven't contacted me.

"I've said this last week," said Self, a 1985 graduate. "I would recommend they go in a different direction. I still feel that. I'm not going to say that couldn't potentially happen, because I guess it potentially can."

Self said he hopes to meet soon with Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins.

"I want to visit with my athletic director," said Self, who is 142-32 in five seasons at Lawrence. "To be real honest with you, I love Kansas. I love my job here, and hopefully it will be a situation where I can spend a long time here. I'm certainly not looking to leave, but Lew and I got to visit. I'm sure that'll happen in the next couple days."

Perkins didn't want to discuss the subject.

"Wait until we get back" to Lawrence, he said.

The school gave Self a five-year contract extension last season, increasing his annual compensation to more than $1.3 million with a chance to make another $350,000 each year if he meets incentives.

The Tulsa World reported Sunday that sources say Oklahoma State officials are ready to offer Self a big contract.

A source close to Oklahoma State told ESPN Radio's Doug Gottlieb that the university has not and will not contact Self or his representatives at any point before his season is complete, including postseason exit meetings with his team and staff, before approaching him about the job.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

------

I guess someone asked him and he didn't back down from the question. Sounds like it will be a week before we know anything.

Thank you,as I always enjoy this moment, and yes due to Scary Englands super sized ego, those of us in the OKC area lost this oppurtunity. Now,if there had been some serious weather around(tornado on the ground),that woulda been fine, but it was a thunderstorm, for crying out loud. Gary is the worst at blowing things way out of portion, and thus making sure he gets his air time. Throw in Dean the stream and his poor biased sports reporting, and channel 9 really sucks. I feel sorry for Kelly Ogle, and thats my .02

Yeah, I felt the same way about the coverage. They go overboard for most storms, in my opinion. Ahhh.

By the way, here's a MUCH better version straight from CBS' website:

Good Lord, get a hold of yourselves.

A bunch grown men all balled up in the fetal position because they missed the chance to shed a tear while listening to a song called "One Shining Moment"? I think I'm going to hurl. :vomit-smiley-001:

First one that starts chatting up the Dyson is going to get it.:violent-smiley-017:

I thought it was funny a few years back some old lady called in and ripped garry for interupting her tv show and it was just a small strom moveing through . Garry was livid and he went on the air saying i dont have time for that crap. hillarious to say the least.

If Gary did say "crap", I'm surprised. I remember one of his weathermen understudies was doing the weather one day when a bee or wasp got in the studio. The bee/wasp flew at the guy's head and he said "Oh, sh&t!" as he ducked... on air while doing the weather. Gary fired him after the broadcast because he wasn't on after that.

didnt Allen Mitchell or somebody like that was fired for threatening a elderly woman ? I met one of the weather guys once and i asked them why in hell doesnt it evere snow in sw oklahoma anymore . he asked me why i liked the snow and i said , so i could go cut donuts on mike holder's golf course . (kidding ) it was the mayor's fron yard that i cut donuts whenever it snowed. needless to say i flattened his mailbox. but two other osu fans and I had a great evening of oneryness .
