I missed the notice of his Richard Widmark's death on March 24, 2008. There was a very good article about his life in the The New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/26/arts/26cnd-widmark.html?_r=3&ref=obituaries&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=slogin). His wife who announced his death said he fractured a vertebra in recent months and that his condition had worsened.
