Is this what they call a "stress test" or am i thinking of something else? I just rec'd email instructions for Houston, and that is something they will be doing while we are there. I was curious as to what it was. Thanks!

Monday, December 10, 2007 - Orders included in this packet
TENTATIVE – pending Dialysis schedule (we will work around that schedule once informed by family)

9:00 AM - Arrive in the office for Registration/ Labs/EKG/ Chest X-Ray/ consultation with Dr. Coselli. Please be prepared to wait, Dr. Coselli is in surgery everyday, all day long and will see you between cases.


Tuesday, December 11,2007 - Orders included in this packet

8:00 AM - Myocardial Perfusion Stress with Adenosine
@ Baylor Clinic – 12th floor , 1225 Cardiology


Instructions for Prep – Myocardial Perfusion Stress
Do not eat or drink 4 hours prior to the test.
Do not take any medications before the test. (Please bring medications with you to take after the first part of the test.)
Bring a list of medications with you that include strength and dosage. Please include non-prescription drug on the list.
Do not eat or drink any food beverages with caffeine for at least 12 hours prior to the test. (i.e., no coffee, tea, soft drink, or chocolate)
Wear comfortable clothing and “running” shoes.
How long will this test take?
The total time required for this test is generally 5 hours with both parts performed the same day.
In some cases, the second set of images (those at rest) must be acquired the following day.



10:00 AM - Pulmonary Function Test – Spirometry Only.
@ Baylor Clinic – 12th floor , 1225 Cardiology

But day one looks like the most stressful -- waiting the whole day to see the doctor. Wow. Wishing and praying for the best.

Great. So it involves dye. Not good. She doesn't do well with the dye. It makes the kidney go into ticked off mode.

Thanks for the info. I thought it was a stress test, but wasn't sure. Why do you suppose they are doing this? Looking for...?? She just had one about 6 months ago

I bet six months isn't current enough.
