PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
"As the Wind Blows" will be a 40 minute film, produced in conjunction by Romani and Seraphim productions. It will be filmed in the Tulsa, OK area from the second week in May until mid to late June. (We're allowing for extra time because we have several childrens roles available.)
Synopsis:
Katie is a young mother of two, with a wonderful husband and a great house... her life is perfect- until her husband, Dennis, dies suddenly. Now she has to find a way to help her children (and herself) move on. The situation is compounded when we realize that Dennis never really left...
CHARACTERS
KATIE (25-30 Female )
A young mother who has just lost her husband.
DENNIS (25-35 Male )
Even though Dennis is deceased throughout most of the film, he is still a major role- because he sticks around after he dies!! He's a very good natured, humerous character. Needs to be able to appear younger in flashback scenes and older in present day scenes. (there is an eight year time difference between some of the scenes.)
SHELLY (50-75 Female )
Katie's mother. Funny, down to earth, pushy. Everybody's favorite grandmother. Smells like chocolate chip cookies... grows her own vegetables.... feeds her grandchildren chocolate whenever she feels like it- loves being a grandmother.
JULIE (4-10 Female )
Katie and Dennis' daughter. Can she see and talk to Dennis, even though no one else can??
CALEB (7-12 Male )
Katie and Dennis' son. He's in denial. His father's body was never recovered, and as far as he's concerned, Dennis is laying in a hospital somewhere with a case of amnesia and could walk in the door any moment.
NED (18-30 Male )
Katie's lazy brother. Still lives with his mother. Never washes his clothes.
MAMMAW (45-89 Female )
Shelly's mother, Katie's grandmother.
PAPPAW (45-89 Male )
Shelly's father, Katie's grandfather.
MS.CRAWFORD (45-89 Female )
Katie and Dennis' nosy, grouchy, yappy dog owning, neighbor.
YOUNG SHELLY (25-40 Female )
Shelly as a young mother.
YOUNG KATIE (4-10 Female )
Katie as a young girl.
SUE (12-18 Female )
Katie's older sister. We only see her in a flashback scene... is the family's past too much for her??
YOUNG CALEB (1-3 Any )
Caleb as a baby at christmas-time
POLICE OFFICER (20-89 Any )
Brings the bad news of Dennis' death to Katie.
