This afternoon in Enid the Westboro Baptist Church (crazy church from Kansas) will be protesting the funeral of a soldier that was killed in Iraq.
These guys are just crazy. They make me so mad!!!
I was told that the Enid Fire Deparment is positioning their fire engines so that the quacks can't get close to the funeral. I hope it works!
I have heard of this happening, but this is a little too close to home for me.

Why can't these quacks voice their opinions in the proper forums and let the fallen soldier's loved ones grieve in peace? Would that be too much to ask from people who are supposed to be beacons of God's love in this world?
Sometimes I just don't get people.

Even with the Enid Fire Department there, the family is not going to get a peaceful ceremony where they can concentrate on their loved one and not some protestors outside.
And yeah, there's way too much hate and injustice in this world. It's too bad the local newspaper couldn't print the funeral with the wrong date so the protestors showed up a week after the funeral. That would be hilarious!

Well, there's always something that comes along and makes us one big happy family again!
What a bunch of freaks.

Can we get a national publication of any funerals that occur at their funeral?
Im sure there are a lot of folks that would love to show up at one of their parrishoners funerals & give them a taste of their own medicine.

I wonder if the family asked the Patriot Guard to help with the protesters?
They have been very effective in buffering the family from the these idiots.

Yes, the Patriot Guard was there in full force as well as several hundred residents of Enid. I have not heard yet how may individuals from Westboro were there, but at a funeral around a year ago in Enid, there were only 10 or so there.

Those idiots were even protesting the funeral of 4 teenage girls killed in a car accident in Ulysses, Ks yesterday. One of the girls father and brother are in the Army and currently deployed in Iraq.

Wow. Truly disgusting. What drives these people to do this? Do they really believe what they're saying?

A couple of them are lawyers; that should answer your question.

So, u think they are trying to goad people into a confrontation so they can file a suit??
I think they are just idiots, and I'm certainly not in favor of terrorism, but a really nice, accidental, large, natural gas explosion at about 11:45 some Sunday at their church wouldn't bother me much. God, I'm gonna burn for saying that.:(

I think that really is part of their motive. They fully understand all of the laws and what their rights are. They are just waiting for someone to screw up so they can take action.

I'd still make the road trip to protest at one of their funerals!
Hell, I'd even bring beer!

You couldn't do anything physical to them or you'd get arrested but what about stinking them out? Surely there is something like catfish stinkbait or something that would back those people up without offending those in mourning. Don't touch them but put something stinky right up in their face. bwahahaha! I'd love to do that.

Sorry about that. You can fill in the time looking at the other interesting ones. I tried to find one I saw a few years ago that was a professionally done one with a guy who went and stayed with them for awhile. It talked about the family's reasoning for sending all of them to school to be lawyers, etc. It is quite entertaining, but no longer available online I think. Their compound is several houses they purchased back to back which they opened up the backyards to so it is like one big property.
