I can't believe Iowa State averaged more than nine thousand people in the stands than we did. What did they win 3-4 games this year.

You know, the thing that amazes me is that we had probably as good of a "weather" season as I remember. Seems to me maybe that first (or was it second?) game had a bit of a threat of rain but that never materialized. Otherwise, it was a gorgeous season weather wise.
Our 40,024 is the lowest average attendance figure for OSU since averaging 39,813 in the 2000 season (Bob Simmons last year). So an argument could be made that we lost (from a fan support / attendance perspective) all of the benefit of the Les Miles 3-Bowl-Trips-in-4-years seasons this year.

That maybe some of it. It probable didn't help we started the season 1-2 with bad losses to Georgia and Troy.

Was it the Troy game that had to be delayed because of thunderstorms? Whichever it was, I was listening on XM, and it was funny to hear the OSU broadcast guys trying to come up with "chatter" to fill the extra time.

Attendance will continue to grow. We lost a lot of people when we took the end zone out and eliminated the cheap seets. A lot of those people will be back next year and most of the available inventory will still be expensive club seats and like Holder said last year if the Sooners want to pay for those seats we will take their money.

If we continue to go 6 and 6 each year and settle for mediocre bowl games, attendance will not grow...even with the cheap seat additions. Worst case the attendance will grow in the form or travelling fans from visiting teams.
Expectations have been set for greatness...someone better deliver or BPS is going to look mighty empy (or non-orange) in the WEZ.

agree totally, we lost alot folks with the ticket increase but now our athletic budget is within 10 other schools ie utexass at 82 mil,10 schools are 45 to 55 mil then iowa state is last at 32 mil

Everyone does realize that our stadium only could hold 43,000 this year. I believe we will jump up to 49,000+ next year, if not more, when it will hold 60,000. Close to 55,000+ avg. if we find a defense. Anxious to see what the prices are for the end zone. I get four there for my son and his 3 buddies.

Yeah the Troy game was delayed. I thought I had missed the first quarter when I got home but they were just kicking off.
