STILLWATER -- During a press conference before Oklahoma State's Wednesday practice, Cowgirl basketball coach Kurt Budke's hair became a conversation topic.
With Budke, there's never a hair out of place. In celebration of OSU's drive to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen, the Cowgirls want to alter Budke's appearance.
Asked to specify her plans for Budke's hair, OSU All-Big 12 guard Andrea Riley said, "Spike it up. Put some gel in it."
At 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the New Orleans Arena, the third-seeded Cowgirls (27-7) are matched with second-seeded LSU (29-5). The ESPN-televised game will be presented in high-definition. If Budke's hair is different, it should be obvious in high-def.
"If they want me to change (hairstyles) for a week, I'll change it for a week," Budke said. "But I'm not spiking it. I'm not shaving it. We'll just rearrange it just a little bit."
The OSU-LSU winner advances to Monday's regional championship meeting with top-seeded North Carolina or fourth-seeded Louisville. North Carolina and Louisville clash at 11 a.m. Saturday.
