In name only. But it is a nice old building. We will call it, Rustic!
Are you in it BigBadBen?

I didn't know you were from Duncan, BBB. My mom's family is from there. Her dad used to own the welding shop downtown.

No, my grandad's name was J.W. Hire, and I believe the shop was just "Hire's Welding Shop".
He had been retired for a few years even when I was growing up (so the shop probably hadn't been operational for at least 25 years), but I remember he'd take us by there when we'd visit. I don't remember too much about it other than that there was an old ferris wheel out front.
He opened the shop after finishing his duty in World War II and his specialty was wrought ironwork (which was popular in the 50s and 60s), so a lot of buildings down there in Stephens County there still have banisters, window coverings, fences, etc. that he built. He was always really proud of that.
Anyway - got a lot of memories about going to Kiwana Park when I was a kid. Judging by your post, I assume you grew up in Duncan? If you did, I'm guessing you might know some of my family. Mom and her sister have since moved on, but we've still got some relatives down there.

I know exactly where you are talking about.
I remember the old ferris wheel.
Yeah, I grew up here. Its not a bad place, just limited on entertainment, hence the Little Theatre! :D
