And that's what it takes to get tickets to the most anticipated (by pre-teen, tweens, and early teens) concert event of the summer....the Jonas Brothers.

Now I have a quandry.

I have four pretty danged good tickets to the Jonas Brothers concert in OKC this summer. They are every bit as big as HM among girls the JDettes' age. HM tickets to OKC sold in the secondary market for $350-500+ each. They only cost me $60 each. I haven't told the girls I have them yet. They don't even know they're coming yet.

So I have to decide whether to be a hero to my girls, or a hero to my pocketbook. I think I'm going to hold off mentioning it to them until it gets closer and see what the market looks like.

It's a no brainer JD! Take your girls to a fun filled evening with dad...at the MOVIES or something cheaper!

They are going to Blue Man, and they went to HM. Scalp them tickets!

LOL

I ain't you, but if I were, and I ain't, but if I was, I'd hold off until it got closer, if the ticket prices got stupid again, I'd sell 'em and spend the money on airline tickets to the East Coast, but that's just me. If I couldn't get enough money for 'em to get me real close to the cost of the airline tickets I'd go to the show.

But, that's just me. Sounds to me that whatever you do, it's a win/win situation.:food-smiley-004:

Actually, they didn't get to go to HM. All the tickets were sold out before they went on sale to the public. That taught me that fanclub presale is the way to go.

That's kind of what I'm thinking right now.

Oh. Well, that changes things...*L*

I'd stick with Jake. An extra trip east would be a nice surprise.

But, on the other hand, the chance to go to the concert may be a life experience that they will never forget........as the commercial says - priceless.

Well since I was lucky enough to get tickets at regular price to Hannah here in OKC,and took my little girl, well I will say that being the hero dad is priceless and we now have memories that will last a lifetime. That said,by being at Hannah, we already seen the JBros. But in your place, it's a win/win. I don't see the JB tickets without Hannah being quite as big $$$ wise, but yep they'll be close. So the money,be a hero, either way you win! Enjoy.

When I was a kid, my dad got two tickets to see the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's "Coming Out of Their Shell" tour at the Maybee Center in Tulsa for my birthday, which he hocked under the auspice that I could get a lot more stuff for my birthday instead of seeing the show.

Yes, I got the Ninja Turtle sewer playset and the Technodrome - both of which are still badass - but I think it put a strain on our relationship that I have yet to forgive him for.

To make it worse, my sister still got to see Sesame Street Live.

Thanksgivings in my household have never been the same since.

If you decide to sell, just make sure the girls never knew you had the tickets. A trip to see mom would be pretty special, especially for mothers day.

Yeah, if it slips that I have them...we're going. I wouldn't let them know I sold them out from under them.

I ended up getting HM tickets when they put more on sale the week before the concert. I had the same dilemna, but I opted to take my son, niece, and nephew to the concert and they all had a great time that they will never forget.

You are a great dad and do special things with your girls all the time, so either way you are a winner.

You won't get near the green you would have for HM tix, so might as well take them to see the show.
