Yeah... great coaching, great recruiting and not losing your best shooter and only experienced post plalyer just before the season... everything fell in place for him in a hurry.

I don't think everything just FELL in place for him. I'm 100% sure he and his staff worked their butts off and brought this team from the seller to the penthouse in just 3 short years, THAT'S GREAT COACHING. Budke didn't become this successful by just hoping that everything would just FALL in place for him.

Well, I didn't say that he wasn't a great coach, or that he didn't do any of those things that you listed.
My comment was directed at the post that insinuiated that good coaches (i.e., Budke) can do it in short order, and bad coachs (i.e., Sutton) cannot.
I freely admit that Budke is a great coach that worked his butt off and had everything fall into place for him in a short amount of time. Maybe that makes him a special coach, I don't know.
But I did observe that he did not look so great his first season, and he did not look all that great in his second season, although there was definate improvement.

Well californiacowboy...
As a coach I can at least give some advice here..... One... he didn't look good his first 2 seasons because he didn't have that good of talent.. .News flash... good coaches always have good talent. Players most of the time make you look smart or stupid.
Hence, why you can take a average coach with outstanding talent.. then all the sudden that coach looks smart.
The fact that he has improved every year does speak for his talent of being a coach... but in college you are judged a lot by your recruiting as well. He has done well drawing attention to the girls program.. so in that aspect yes he has done a great job.
Comparing Sutton to Budke really is not a close comparison... two different styles with two very different teams with two different paths they've had to follow... that is like comparing a Lexus to a Kia.... both are cars ..but very different

Huh, that's funny, I didn't and still don't see anything about Sutton in my post. Therefore, it's you, not me, comparing Sutton to Budke, when, just like Coach says, there really isn't even a close comparison.
Anyways, this is supposed to be a thread about Budke and our Cowgirls, so back to the orignal topic....... GO COWGIRLS!!!!!! I hope you put a whoopin' on FSU tonight!!!!!!

I think you said the same thing that I said.... Sutton 2-years, Budke 3-years; no comparison, but thanks for the "advice".
Need talent. Need time to get it and develop it.
