The tournament starts at 11CST. I wish I was there, but this is the first time in the last 7 years I have not been able to make it.

I'll be keeping track through the day though and cheering our Cowboys on through a very difficult tourney.

Our first match will be Newly McSpadden at 157 which will be in the 2nd or 3rd group of wrestlers to take the mats.

Dretsch form Minnesota is in OT with his opponent. The winner of the match is Mason's next opponent, and Mason has had trouble with Dretsch in the past, this could be a decent break for us depending on how this match goes.

We're doing a lot better with bonus points tha nI thought we would at this time. 2 Falls and a Tech Fall help. 6 of 8 advancing is very nice, and a couple of those got some breaks as far as their next opponents. Everyone except for Newly (who is up against the #2 seed) is favored for us in the championship bracket I believe.

Good showings by Tyler and Jake tonight in consolations will be nice. There's a very strong chance of us still have all 8 wrestlers for tomorrow with a real good chance of 5 of them still being in the championship bracket.

Well I did some looking and Iowa State is looking real impressive. They went 9-1 in the first round (not many bonus points though). So here is what show for the teams that have a real shot at the team title for the first round:

ISU - 9-1
Iowa - 7-2 with 2 falls
OSU - 6-2 with 2 falls and a technical fall
Minn - 5-3 with 2 falls and a technical fall
