Good News!

Budke also told about 500 supporters Monday night that his top assistant, Jim Littell, had been offered a Division I head coaching job but had turned it down. Neither Budke nor Littell would say which school it was, but media reports have connected Littell with the vacancy at Wichita State.

Littell has deep Kansas roots, having worked as the head coach at two of that state's high schools as well as Friends University in Wichita and Seward County Community College in Liberal. Littell left Seward County to join Budke at Oklahoma State.

interesting... but I wonder how much of it has to do with how little the peon schools can pay their women's HC... versus what we can offer them as assistants (plus, OSU is a pretty good place to win a NC; then he can probably write his own ticket... just like Fedora should have done).

Glad he's staying, and glad that Holder could "evaluate" this coach, "before the season was over"...

does that make it a triple-standard for Holder now?

anyway, I'm glad he's staying.

I see it in a Tulsa World story, something about Holder stepping up to the plate. Has a Mens Assistant Coach been offered a Head job recently?

Yeah, it was mentioned here: http://www.ostatesports.com/community/showthread.php?t=1768

Relevant part:
“He’s the best associate head coach in America and (O-State athletic director) Mike Holder recognized that and stepped up and helped us keep him,” Budke said.

i don't think you can call it a double standard, unless we are losing men's Assistant Coaches.

Let Sean compete for a big 12 championship and get a 3 seed, or any seed for that matter, in the NCAA tournament before we start talking of a double standard.

Where is Holder mentioned in this story?

the quote from Budke was that Holder "stepped up to the plate" to retain the coach.
