Our first and second round games are in Des Moines, IA. And get this...ISU, which is seeded #7, gets to play their first/second round games in Des Moines as well. BAH!

You can see the 1st/2nd locations here: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/tournament/bracket

I agree ... what a shaft job!

Then again, that's what you get when you aren't a "popular" basketball school (remember that:ousucksnana:has been in the running for the National title a few times)

OU getting a OKC game is the weakest bunch of crap I have seen from the NCAA in a while. Someone please explain to me how they fell on their butts at the end of the season, the Cowgirls were 9 seconds away from from winning the Big 12 championship and the Cowgirls get shipped to NO and OU gets a OKC game. This is a bigger travesty then when they looked past the defects of the OU football team.

The way that :ousucksnana: has been playing lately, the only way the OKC regional might do well is if Texas A&M makes it. What a bunch of crap!

sGopokes78 Edmond, Oklahoma: Feel like Oklahoma State didn't get treated fairly. They are a #3 seed, didn't get in the OKC regional. Oklahoma University is a #4 seed and is in the OKC regional.

Graham Hays: (8:07 PM ET ) Judging from the questions coming in, that seems to be the most popular complaint with the bracket. It's tough because you can always fall back on the argument that they were rewarded with a better seed, but that's at best a mixed blessing with the potential for a game against LSU in New Orleans. I was surprised to see the Sooners get the OKC slot, although they don't have an easy road to get there.

Also from Bracket Chat:

Darrin (Stow, OH): Explain how OK St isn't going through OKC but OU is (providing they get out of the 1st 2 rounds)

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Charlie Creme: (8:48 PM ET ) That's easy. With Texas A&M as the #2 in Oklahoma City, as a #3 Oklahoma State could not be placed there because the potential for the two to meet before the regional final would exist.

William, Jackson Hole, Wy: Ok State's wrongful placement in OKC is only exceeded by OU being a #4 seed in OKC..Why couldn't A&M have been placed in New Orleans and LSU shifted to OKC...w/OK St. allowing for some justice.

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Charlie Creme: (9:10 PM ET ) So, it's okay for OK St. to be close to home, but you want to take that away from LSU, who earned it more with a better season and a higher seed? I love when fans are passionate, but look at this with some objectivity. Don't you think under your scenario there would be some upset LSU fans?

John, NJ: Maybe I'm wrong, but I still think the committee's answer is a little contradictory. You can't give OK St. OKC to protect Texas A&M. On the other hand you give LSU New Orleans. North Carolina the higher seed doesn't get protection but Texas A&M does. I know the potential 2-3 match up happens earlier, but it's only a game earlier.

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Charlie Creme: (9:14 PM ET ) It's not protection. It's AGAINST THE RULES. I'm not sure if I can state that any more clearly. It's set up so no conference teams can meet before the regional final. Therefore a 2 and a 3 seed from the same league cannot be in the same region. It's that simple.OK, then why not put aTm in the New Orleans bracket and put OSU there instead? OSU wouldn't face OU until the regional final based on that seeding.

terry oklahoma city: Why did the committee reward OU with a #4 seed when they have lost 3 in a row. They lost in the 1st round of the tourney to the worst team in the league. Does Coale have that much weight?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Charlie Creme: (8:58 PM ET ) Coaches have no weight. The committee felt that OU earned a 4-seed. *cough* bull$#!+ *cough*

Folks, everything bad in men's BB (officiating, regional assignments, etc.) is expontial for the women. UConn and Rutgers (from the same conference), seeded 1 and 2, and in the same regional - WTF? We didn't have a chance at OKC.

Now that I have taken the time to calm down our seeding does not bother me as much. We got a # 3 seed, something we wanted. We did not get hosed in that sense. How they can give OU games through OKC is beyond me, except in looking back through the season. This is the first week we have been ranked above OU and I think the first time OU has not been in the top 15, and it only took 3 loses in a row. There and still is a bias. The easiest way to end it is to win it all.

With A&M as the two in OKC, there was no way that OSU could've been the 3...

The women's committee procedures are pretty simple for coming up with seedings:

Step 1: rate the 1s and put them in their regions
Step 2: rate the 2s and put them in their regions (A&M got OKC)
Step 3: rate the 3s and put them in their regions (OSU couldn't be in OKC, as no intraconference teams can face off until at least the regional finals)
Step 4: rate the 4s and put them in their regions

And so forth....

The way I look at it, here's how the conference tourney affected the seedings:

OU: before final 3 games was a high 2/low 3...afterwards, fell to a 4 seed...
OSU: before end of season was a high 3/low 4...afterwards, moved up to a 3 seed...
A&M: before end of season was a low 3...afterwards, moved up to a 2 seed....

It definitely sucks that you guys got left out of OKC...I think, had OSU won the Big XII conference tourney, they'd have been a 2 in OKC, and we would see the possibility for an OU/OSU regional final (which would've been really cool)....

Duh, they put UConn/Rutgers in the same regional. I'll stick with my previous post; officiating, NCAA assignments, etc. make men's BB look "clean and civilized" compared to this cesspool.

Well, you and I can definitely agree that men's basketball is light years ahead of women's as far as stuff like this goes...but the women's committee's procedures are fairly well-known and fairly simple...

And yes, Rutgers/UConn are in the same region, but they wouldn't meet until the regional finals, which is why they were allowed to be placed in the same region...because A&M got the 2 seed in OKC, neither OSU nor OU could've been the 3, since they'd meet before the regional finals...so, because of OU's bad play down the stretch, they fell from a possible 2 to a 4, which allowed for them to be in OKC....

And I truly believe, had OSU beat A&M in the conference finals, they'd be a 2 in OKC, and then we'd have both OU and OSU in the OKC regional....

A&M could have been the 2 seed in the New Orleans region. It is practically the same distance to OKC.

A&M could have been the 2 seed in the New Orleans region. It is practically the same distance to OKC.

Why would they penalize LSU and move them away from their home state so they could put a lower seed closer to home?
