Green started in Boston, was picked up by Minnesota, got sent to Houston, and was recently waived. From one recent blurb about him:
"Kevin McHale could bring back another former first-round draft pick, Paul Grant -- also known as the poor man's Mark Madsen.
Gerald Green is again available, and if anyone can jack up bad three-pointers faster than Madsen, it's Green."
Ouch! Well, I hope he lands on his feet. I can't fault him for taking the big payout...but still wonder what might have been had he come here instead.

Rockets ink Harris, release Green, may re-sign him in offseason
Gerald Green
The Houston Rockets, in need of a bigger body, released Gerald Green on Saturday to make room for Mike Harris.
However, if Green played, practiced and most of all competed as hard as Harris, he would not be unemployed today. He has a sweet shot and can jump out of the building. Another team will likely take another shot to teach him how to play. It could be the Rockets.
"We have no formal plans for Gerald in the offseason except we will take a close look at signing him," Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said. "We feel the same way about Gerald now as before -- lots of potential."

Sounds like this kid just needed a good solid college coach to teach him some fundamentals of basketball, something that is supposed to be tought in grade school. It seems ridiculous not to be able to teach a kid the fundamentals when the kid is so talented.
