"We're Texas' B!t@#" "We're Texas' B!t@#"
Maybe this can be the new chant for the other 9 schools?

I'm just not getting all the negativity right now.
Did we not just instantly make more money?
Did we not just save money and keep fan support 'local' by not having annual games in the pac nw?
Did we not just stay in a conference that we have been the 3rd most successful school in (and we just got rid of the 2nd)?
All this complaining about UT, did uo not get more money distributed from the B12 that UT in 2008-2009?
Have we ever seriously competed (before you get all smart ass I mean been in the running for in a serious fashion) for a B12 football title?
Are we not only about 2 million behind uo and UT when they are going to a BCS game annually and therefore should be getting a bigger share of that pot already?
I just don't understand the complaining. 2 million is not going to give us 15 5 star recruits lining up to come to us and is not going to make us the #1 grossing AD in the entire NCAA and isn't going to make us more of a national draw. Those of you complaining about that are just being petty for the sake of being petty.
Do I want to be on level ground with UT? Yes. Do I understand why they get more? Yes. Do I like it? No. But I like it a lot more than having to play uo and UT for a B12 title over having to play uo and UT and USC and Ore and Cal for a P16 title.
Seriously, all the whining is just silly. The OSU AD/Admin did what is in the best interest for OSU. If you can't see that, then you need to readjust vector.
We made more money, but we simultaneously widened the gap between us and our competition, because they will make, percentage-wise, a lot MORE money. So we effectively just put ourselves further behind in the (Not Really That Big) Big 12.

This "new money" is not guaranteed yet. It's a proposed deal that is not inked. And we all know that those deals can disappear in a heartbeat.
The main thing that concerns me is all the "bad blood" between our conferences schools. We are already unstable and risk losing another team (Mizzou) or 2.
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not mad, I'm concerned. I'm concerned about the stability of our conference and I'm concerned that we just burned an excellent opportunity for us to move into a stable and strong conference for years to come. The future is 4-5 superconferences and I don't see the Big12(10) being one. The Big12 is going to wrong way and losing big TV markets and conference championship games, while other conferences are expanding TV markets and adding champ. games.
Sure, in the short term, we just gained a big money contract. But all that contract did was catch us up to the SEC, PAC and BIG10. What happens when they redo their contracts and double our again?? This did nothing for our long-term viability at all. Because we had a chance to move and we may not get a chance like that again......

Major:
I have one problem with this deal. It is solely TX wanting to widen the gap amongst its so called friends.
The Pac16 deal would have made TX more money than this deal.
The Pac16 deal would have insured a level playing field.
No other way to spin it other than TX settled for less dough in exchange for a competitive advantage and continued unlevel playing field closer to home. In money. In recruiting. And mostly in power going into the future.

I saw on the news that uo,ut, & aTm are guaranteed 20 - 25 million a year, OSU and the rest are only getting 14 - 17. Doesn't that widen the gap?
We also gave up (IMO) some fertile recruiting grounds in the west. We could of had a better opp. to recruit there when we would play there.

Not to mention what it would have done for academics.

No; sorry I completely disagree with all that (except the academic part).
Everyone assumes that we get P10 money but are still on B12 rules. Unfortunately, being in the P10 means we are on P10 rules, meaning its not just the B12 south to worry about but all the P10 institutions that come with it.
You think opening up Cali doesn't open up Texas, whom we can't already get any 5 stars out of, for other people like Oregon and UW and Cal?
None of you want to see any of the reciporacle side. Anyone of you that think getting the same amount of a payout from a conference is going to make us anywhere near even terms with UT, uo and USC are delusional. If your only response to that is, “Well it would help,” then it isn’t worth arguing because we are already coming away with more money.
Just makes me think that no matter what, some people are always going find something to bitch about, i.e. in 2002-2003 when people said Eddie was washed up and couldn’t recruit.
