Oklahoma State Next to Jump to Pac-10

A source in the OK State athletic department tells TMZ Sports the move is a "done deal." The Pac-10 just made it official that Colorado is also jumping off the Big 12 ship.

We're told it's "just a matter of time" before the OK State announcement is also made. It's been rumored that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M will also join the new super conference. Nebraska, it's widely believed, will go to the Big 10.

As for why this is all going down -- our source says "everyone wants a playoff system ... and this is the first step toward doing it."

It all makes SO MUCH SENSE now.

Colorado first, and OSU second.........provides complete political coverage for TX, aTm and Tech to oust Baylor.

With only 4 spots left, OU has to be third. That will leave ONLY THREE spots available politically, so TX, Tech and aTm can say it isn't their fault.

I'd bet a fair sum that Boone is right in the middle of this politically. His lawyer and best friend is on the UT Board of Regents. TX (and aTm for that matter) need massive political cover as the emotions run deep with the Baptists. Offering sequentially Colorado first (nail in the coffin to Baylor), OSU and OU next (final nail in the coffin) is strategically brilliant. And it will all have been done to provide UT political cover as the 800 lb gorilla in the room.

I'm hearing now that Burns will hold a presser today, but that there will be no announcement regarding conference allignment.

And in the TW, Holder says the report is "false."

Sounds like there's a lot of backroom strategerizing going on!

So what happens with other conferences besides us, Big 10, Pac 10? Does the SEC start a grab for members of ACC, like FSU?

We have to ask Texas first. If they say we can, then we say we can. :cool2:
