Jarboe still plans to play for Sooners

Despite last week's arrest on multiple felony counts, high schooler Josh Jarboe told an Atlanta television reporter on Thursday that he's planning on being an Oklahoma Sooner.

"I still have my scholarship; I'm still going to Oklahoma," Jarboe told WSB-TV's JaQuitta Williams. "If I don't go to Oklahoma, I'm going somewhere.

"This ain't just fixing to stop me."

Jarboe was arrested on March 6 and charged on Monday with receiving stolen property and carrying a weapon on school grounds. He could face a year's suspension from Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Ga., and at least two years in prison.

OU coach Bob Stoops has declined comment until he knows more details and the legal process is concluded. Williams said she was told by OU that Jarboe is "still expected to attend OU and play football" pending the case's outcome.

Jarboe, 18, and James Davis, 17, were seen by a school administrator driving into the school parking lot last Thursday. Jarboe is accused of retrieving a loaded .380 handgun from the trunk of a friend's car, concealing it in his waistband and, after he was approached by a school police officer, trying to hide it under the driver's seat.

During the television interview, he denied any wrongdoing.

"I ain't never been in trouble. Never been," he said. "I was just getting dropped off for my track meet. It was in his car. That's it."

I'm guessing he doesn't plan on majoring in speech.:ousucksnana:

Oddly enough it's not the "fixin" that bugs me, we all have a bit of hick in us... but the whole sentence, if you can call it that, is a mess. I know what he means, but that has to be the more inarticulate thing I have read all week.
