Ok, so I don't really get this? I don't think I've ever heard of a jury trial to determine if a protective order is enforced? Anybody got any insight about what's going on?

STILLWATER — A July trial has been scheduled to determine whether a protective order will be enforced against Oklahoma State basketball player Matt Pilgrim.
Payne County Special Judge Phillip Corley on Thursday extended a temporary protective order granted to an OSU student who accused Pilgrim of sexually assaulting her in a campus dormitory. It will now run until the start of the trial, scheduled for July 8.
Pilgrim has not been arrested and does not face any criminal charges. A school spokesman says campus police had closed their investigation when the woman refused to cooperate with efforts to prosecute Pilgrim, then reopened their investigation at the woman's request.
Pilgrim, 22, was served the order May 3, three weeks after the female OSU student told police she was raped by Pilgrim in her Smith Hall campus residence on April 12.
The student complained, in a campus police activity report from April 13, of being sexually assaulted by an acquaintance. At the time, she declined to assist in a prosecution of the case, which was then considered closed.
OSU spokesman Gary Shutt said earlier this month that the woman and her family have requested that the investigation be reopened.
In the petition for the protective order, the victim said she received an email from Pilgrim on April 13, then saw him at Smith Hall on May 2, when the two exchanged words. She requested the protective order that day — saying, "I am scared that he may do something to harm me" — and it was granted.
Pilgrim, after transferring from Kentucky, played in 30 of 33 games and started 13 for the Cowboys last season, averaging 8.2 points and 6.7 rebounds. He became a major factor late in the season, when he made 11 of his starts over the final 12 games, and is considered a key component for OSU next year.
Coach Travis Ford has declined to comment.
Shutt said in early May that Pilgrim remains in school and is still a part of the team.
Pilgrim and his attorney, Willie Baker, declined comment after the brief hearing.
