So my wife went to Dallas with some friends this weekend and had parked her car up by Quail Springs.

The small hole to the left side.

Another hole about the middle of the picture.

Don't know if you can see the dents in the hood in the picture but it's pretty bad.

Dent's in the roof too.

Every panel has damage.

I posted this in another thread. This is the parking lot of Sam's club by Quail.

This is a friends car who lives off I44 & Western.

My mom was with my grandma at the Heart Center at Mercy. From what I hear the van is destroyed.

So the adjuster told my wife that they will total her truck. Now it's a matter of finding out how much they will offer. :stupe:

It sure won't be enough to replace the truck and is in as good of shape.

If you don't want to lose the vehicle, you can ask the insurance company to buy it back from them. You can usually get it back pretty cheap, and then you can take the money paid for the repairs to have it fixed. The salvaged title won't matter if you show the insurance company that the vehicle has been fully repaired.

They talked about the possibility of keeping it. It's something that we will probably do. I'm just not sure how the salvage title works for tagging it. She would like to get a "new" used car with the money if enough. Except for it being beaten up, it's in better shape mechanically then mine, so I can drive it. The worse is the hood; I can live with dents on the roof.

Our roof on the old house we're trying to sell got hammered. We have a good insurance policy so it looks like we're getting a new roof out of the deal.

The only bad thing on a salvaged title is banks won't lend on anything that's salvaged. So when you go to sell it, it might take a little longer, because you'll have to find a cash buyer. I know my bank won't lend on salvaged or repo titles and I haven't heard of any other banks that do, but that doesn't mean there isn't one somewhere.

If it is just hail damage, I have been told by my insurance company that it will not change the title. I just bought my truck back from them so we will see. I asked the adjuster and my agent at different times and they both told my the same thing.
