I am impressed with his ability to run away from people as well as his elusiveness. Dude is hard to tackle as well...he was breaking tackles left and right. Arm strength appears to be so so. j/k :)

He is definitely a talent, can't wait to see him play. It doesn't hurt to have talented people around you though. His offensive line gave him about an hour and a half to get rid of some of those balls, and there were some of wicked play-breaking blocks being thrown downfield on some of his runs. Certainly doesn't take away from him though, he was flat out making plays.

Fingers crossed it sticks. I couldn't help from thinking while watching that, that it looked a whole lot like our offense the last few years, but I'm not sure if it will resemble what we run THIS year. Hopefully he still likes it.

A few great things I saw:

- He has a cannon.
- His O line was amazing.
- The blocking in general were amazing for a HS team. Some of those downfield blocks were stellar.
- He seems to run very well downfield, reading off of his blockers.
- He has great, possibly amazing, pocket awareness.
- Looks like he likes the jump ball; we need to get that 6'3 WR to throw it to, now.

A couple things to work on:
- All that dancing in the pocket is going to end up in some big losses against D1 teams.
- Once he is in a scrum downfield he needs to learn to go down; in college about 100 things can happen when a QB is pawing with DBs and LBs are coming back at you full speed - and about 99 of them are bad.
- He seems to stare down his receivers.

Was very impressed; great get. Word is he's a great kid, too.

What are you hearing/seeing about this kid ...from south of red river? Do the Texas HS coaches think he is the REAL deal???

You just described Zac Robinson sans the cannon :)

Well, actually, yes. And I don't know if Zac's pocket presence was all that good. I saw him get blindsided quite a few times. Also, Zac was a, "Look, look, run." This kid looks like he is committed to scrambling for an open WR. There are a couple of those clips where he scrambled for damn near 15-20 secs and still never took off running.

One other thing I noticed that I liked... he has a REALLY nice fake; both dropping it on his thigh when trying to sell the run and sticking it all the way in the basket during the option read.

That's one thing that I don't think Zac ever mastered. Fields was an expert on selling the fake.

Sure helps to have OT's that protect your BLIND SIDE :^)

He is on schedule and has announced that he will enroll in January. This should take away a little of the suspense in his recruiting. He seems more than solid.

Sorry for the delayed response... the Coach is trying to finish up the school year.

From what I heard, he seems to be a pretty solid recruit who has the "it" factor... he just seems to make plays and make things happen. I have seen him play and he for sure can make "it" happen.

However, you have to be careful when you crown the "next" big thing because of the fact that you haven't seen him play against Big 12 talent yet...

When a high school player plays he only plays against a limited amount of D-1 talented athletes ... (hence why you have more busts than mega stars)... SO I will be excited to see what he can do on a D-1 field...

But I am excited on the "potential" he seems to show.... I compare him to kind of a Robinson/Fields hybrid.... the good feet of Robinson with the strong arm of Fields... nice combo in my opinion...

He looks like a Colt McCoy clone to me.

Deaton, Sorenson and Walsh are going to make for some fun QB competition for 2012.
