View Full Version : Georgia Dome apparently hit by Tornado

Been watching the SEC tourney and apparently the Georgia Dome was hit, although maybe just a glancing blow, by a tornado. Unsure at this time but the NWS in Atlanta says that a "tornadic activity" happened. This was at the end of one of the games and they hustled the players to thier locker-rooms and have delayed play for almost an hour now.
Getting ready to restart the game and then they have another after this final 2:29 of this one.

guess your not getting the Big 12 tourny?, yea they were showing the inside, game was in ot?

yeah, not Big 12 tourney over here. Showed scenes from outside and big panels were laying on the ground.

Oh and Mississippi State just won in overtime over Alabama.

What's so dam funny is, only one news staion is showing the weather, the one with the Busch Race on. There's three Tornado Warnings right now, and the other local stations are just scolling the news on the bottom of the screen during live tv. HAHA!!

Where's Gary and Val when you need them? HAHA

I was in the hospital when the big stuff blew over. I was more concerned about my lab (he's big-time gun-shy). Fortunately, one of my wife's aunts and her daughter were leaving the hospital so they took care of him for me.

I was watching News 14 (Time Warner's News network here in NC) and they were covering it like they do in OK. I felt like I was home again ;)

the important question is . did the Glitter Dome get hit ? that would be a damn shame to lose the most precious hang out for troubled athletes . of course that would be my 2nd choice for a hang out . Nothing can compare to having fun at Billy Bobs but the glitter dome is a close second.
