I can not remember a more depressing men's basketball season in my life time. I am 31 years old. With the situation with Sean, the pathetic play at times, and Eddie Sutton running his mouth I am glad it is over!

NO NIT, the first round loses are to disappointing.

Tiny:

I am almost twice your age and I can remember a whole bunch of more depressing basketball seasons than the one we just went through. And the man that you accuse of running his mouth is the same man that brought the success back to OSU Basketball. Apparently the success that you want to fondly look back on.
He is also the man that recommended the coach we have now who I personally think has done quite a bit with what he had to work with. And if you had listened to the announcers who have done our games throughout the season, this same coach is also someone that they are showing great respect for in:
Dealing with the situation that was handed him for his first partial season.
Dealing with the team he was left with and the recruits that did not make it for one reason or another. (Remember the short bench from last year?)
Dealing with a young squad this year.

So are you really sure you want to make such a broad, all encompassing statement like that?

I for one am NEVER happy when a basketball season ends. This is not the Dark Ages of OSU basketball, and if everyone (re: Holder & Co.) do not lose their heads we will still not be heading that way next year.

Relax, every program has a bad run now and then - and I see a lot of promise in our future.

I would say when we lost 10 friends of the OSU basketball program was the most depressing season.

What do you mean it's over? You quitting already?

I'll be cheering when we take the court in our first NIT matchup...

This season isn't over.

Go Pokes!!

You are referring to the same thing that I am talking about. I am glad the season is over. I am not saying that Sean should be run off or Eddie Sutton should be discredited. I hate that Sean has had to deal with the questions and rumors and that Coach Sutton felt like he had to bash the program he revitalized to defend his son. I want it all to go away and OSU basketball to be fun again.

Yeah, I'm tired of sucking too. Three years out of the NCAA tournament is ridiculous for our program. Sean needs to get the team to play a whole season next year after the spectacular collapse we had last year followed up by an awful start to this season.

Hopefully we get to host a first round NIT game and win a few there.

Actually I think the most depressing year for me was the year after our first Final 4 and we missed going back to the tournament because we couldn't hit FT's. There were a couple of games, one in the Big 12 tourney when we missed ft's at the end of the game that cost us a chance to make the tournament.

This year is disappointing mainly because it's the 3rd year in a row we've missed the NCAA tournament. Talent was there just couldn't get the consistency needed to be the team we all wanted.

I enjoyed watching Sean get this team to play hard down the stretch. After the start we had, it turned into a competitive team. I will remember beating Kansas, and Marcus playing great D

Many fans will never appreciate what they have until they have it no more. In 1989 I moved away to the North tundra where there was no Cowboys to be found. I will tell you that I'll take a 17 - 15 season in which the team gave good effort and never gave up. They fought although they did not always play up to the standards that we have become used to. I don't like to lose either but since moving back an being able to attend and support the Cowboys I appreciate them even more. I'm not going to piss and moan of what it could have been and call for everyone's job. I'm going to thank god because I am a Cowboy and appreciate my team and my Alma Mater.:cowbell:

We had plenty of moments to savor and we still have some post season to play.

I've been a Redskins fan for 20 years.. They only had one glory year in that span... since then .. when they get a post season bid I know they won't go deep but it means I get to watch my team play another game.

Lord knows the Pokes give me more hope than the Redskins do! lol

Hey.. at least one more game to watch our seniors play.. that's gotta be something.
