Folks...is it just me or has Frank A. had a serious chance and just hasn't been able to pull it all together??? I honestly can't see giving him any kind of contract extension and maybe tis time to seriously consider CHANGE in the coaching ranks!:music-smiley-019:

I'm not going to start railing for a change, but it certainly doesn't seem like we are heading in the right direction. I'm not that close to the program, so I couldn't say.
I've been seeing lots of grumbling about him, but other people point out that we are down a number of scholarships due to some kind of oversight problem that was a screw-up in the compliance oversight department. It's hard to compete if you can't get the athletes.

Its true. It angers me that there would BE such an oversight like that. Not FA's fault by any means (or at least I don't think it was). We also lost out on his kid going pro. Regardless, our hitting has been great but untimely and without Oliver, for the most part, our pitching staff would have been fairly bad.
I will still fully support the program, however during these times when (for the most part) the B12 has been down, we still haven't been able to fully capitalize. Not making the B12 was a slap in the face last year. KState looks to be decent this year, but losing the ttek series at home was bad (bad bad bad).
We were on the verge for a couple years, behind the strength of Oliver's pitching and the rest of our normal ingredients, but have taken major steps backwards the last couple years. I, for one, believe we are in need of a new direction.
It is funny, I remember when FA came to OSU everyone was weary of the hire because he was the 'coach in waiting' when Augie decided to leave. Now, we don't have to worry about that anymore and need to look elsewhere.
I wonder if Rocky would come home to coach?

Frank's only really bad years have been last year, and this one so far.
And last year, awful as it was, we still made the regional finals.
I don't know if it's Traber's rantings or what, but something has sent a section of the fanbase into Tom Holliday mode about Frank.
Frank is operating with so much less than the other schools in the Big 12 it's not even funny. Allie P. is the worst facility in the league, there is only a token practice facility, and he's working with less scholarship money than everyone else until next year or the year after.
All that, and he's still only missed the NCAAs once. Considering the apparent apathy on the part of his bosses towards his program, that's outstanding.
We're not going to get back to the Gary Ward days until the athletic department makes a commitment to baseball. Until then, Frank will have to work with (as I've said elsewhere) both hands and a leg tied behind his back.
I think a lot of people have forgotten where we were with Holliday. They're expecting Frank to be 1980s Gary Ward (and to be fair, people expected that of Tom too). But Tom operated under the same crap Frank has to, and he only made one regional in his last four seasons.
No, Frank hasn't gotten us back to Omaha. However, his two best chances were torpedoed by crappy NCAA actions (giving the super regional to Louisville and the crap with Andy Oliver). Put that super regional in Stillwater or keep Andy on the field, and one if not both of those teams make it.

Did the new baseball stadium get torpedoed along with the indoor practice facility when the investment tanked? Or would it have been on the back-burner anyway?

I agree 110%!! I think Frank Anderson is a good coach. I think we are lucky to have him----especially considering the support he gets from the athletic dept. None of the scholly shortages are his fault, but he is the one who has cobbled things together and made it look pretty much like everything was normal. He is having a year where everything the team touches turns to S***t. Give him this year and see what next year brings. I am not unhappy with the team's past performances under him.

You also have to remember we also lost our closer on opening day which has killed us in the late innings. Our lack of closing has directly contributed to at least 7 losses!
