Ok,now is when I start in on my weekly recap of Idol, now that we have hit the Top 12. Tonight we went to the big stage, new lights,etc...and again the top 12,doing the songs of Lennon and McCartney. Here we go......

Show starts off with Shyesha, doing "Gotta get you into my life". She more or less did the Stevie Wonder version, and it was just ok. Not bad, just nothing special. Her hair did look better thou.

Next up is Chikezie, and he did a song I hadn't heard before, called "She's a woman". He started it off like something from O brother where are thou, with all the banjos, sitting down ,and I'm thinking, well we know who's leaving...but then like 20 seconds later, he gets up and turns this song into a rocker, and really goes to town, and it ends up being one of the better performances of the night. Is he safe that Chikezie? Oh so easy.

Then we go to Ramiele, who has a great voice,is cute, but always seems to be holding back. Tonight she sang a pretty song called "In my life". Problem was,it was boring.

Following that up is Mr.Dreadlocks, Jason, and he did "If I fell". This performance sounded just like his one 4 weeks ago when he sang "Daydream'. He sits on a stool, does these same style songs, and it's the same ol,same ol week after week. If they told Ramiele she was boring, then so was Dreadlock Dave.

Then up comes the fav that they seem to be pushing this year, Carlie. While the girl can sing,I just don't care for her. Maybe it's that she's already had a record shot with RCA a few years ago and flopped, maybe it's that tattoo look, maybe it's .....I dunno,I just don't care for her. But tonight she did "Come together",and for tonight she did. I like her little change/pause in the chorse, and tonight it worked for her.

Rocker David C. takes the stage next and puts on a rockin' performance of "Elanor Rigby". Very different, but like last week's "Hello", very good. He puts a rock edge on these songs and makes them work.

One of my favs Brooke White is up next and does a slow version of "Let it be". At the piano, she hit it right, just like in the past weeks.

Then comes dancer David H. and he tries to do "I saw her standing there". Notice I said tries. It was very karoke, very choppy, very poor.....Nothing special.

Amanda our rocker nurse is up then with "You can't do that" and while not as good as in past weeks, it was ok.

Aussie Michael takes the stage next and sings "Across the universe". Much like Dreadlock Dave and Ramiele, Boring.

Kristy Lee Cook, then takes a chance and goes country with " 8 days a week",and while the judges may not have liked it, it worked. She took a song, made it hers, and had fun doing it. It sounded like maybe a LeAnn Rhymes or at worst a Branson show, but it was better then alot of tonights performances, and while she's no Carrie Underwood, she could play this into a deal much like Pickler did.

Wrapped it up with another of this years fav, David A. and while lil David has been good tonight he was just alright, while doing "We can work it out". Kinda like Shyesha,in that it wasn't bad, just not great. Luckly for david he was last, otherwise the voters might have forgotten this weeks performance of his.

My pick for the bottom three are........

Jason C., Ramiele, and David H.

and going home is Dancer David Hernandez.

Aggie out!

My bottom three are:

Kristy Lee Cook
Amanda
David A (he forgot the frickin' words! If he wasn't the panel's favorite, they would have torn him down so much he would have been in tears.)

I say Kristy goes but I would not be upset if Amanda went.

I voted for Brooke. Love her!

I like Jason - he's from Rockwall ! He does need to change things up, or his stool, guitar gig is going to get old fast.

I want David H - gay strip boy, to go. Tired of him. Everytime I look at him, now all I think of is the booger in his nose.

I love Brook as well. She's been my favorite since she auditioned with the whole "never seen a R rated movie" deal. Even though i don't believe her...lol

She's a old soul.

She's a old soul.

I was thinking "a gentle soul" but whatever she is... I hope she wins.

I missed when she started crying. Was it during the song or after when the judges were talking to her?

Yea, gentle soul as well.

She cried when the judges were talking to her. No big deal, just a few tears.

Actually, I thought the tears were a big deal. It showed her humility and how much the song meant to her. Her passion for the song (and all the songs she sings) is what is going to help her win.

Some of these performers can sing like no other but they don't sing like the song means anything to them. I would say it is most apparent in the younger singers (Ramiele, David A.) who are going to struggle finding a connection to the songs they sing. Life experiences do make a big deal and help in reaching the audience with a song.

Go Brooke!

Annie, it is called time shifting. Get a DVR, then you can watch them back to back.

I like Carly because of her tattoo look. It's hot.

I have a DVR, and it only lets me tape two shows. One that i have to be watching, and then another chanel. I tape the biggest loser, and then watch either Idol or Big Brother.

Well while I agree Amanda is a one trick pony, and her time is limited, I could see her doing some stuff pretty good. Maybe "Come to my window"?

I had nailed the bottom 3 (if you don't know by now, the person that goes 1st or 2nd is almost always in the bottom 3 if they aren't awesome) but said the horse whisperer was going home. I was not suprised to see Marc Antony's long lost bastard and much less talented step cousin go home.

I love Brooke, but there is one person every year that the 'aaaaaw' factor runs out on. Last year it was the shyness of Melinda (wasn't that her name). In the past it has been the dorkiness of Pickler or the he's so cute factor of either the russian blond kid or the tall red head crooner... point is there is always someone who you love in the beginning because of that aw factor. I'm worried Brooke is going to use that up with her crying every week. Whereas it does show she is real and has humility and respect, it is going to get old. I can tell you for certain, that aw factor is going to run out for cutsie David about as fast as it did for JPL (yeah, heard of him lately?).

I like skunkhead, and agree she is a one-trick pony, but if you think about it... Carrie was pretty much labled a one-trick pony until she put on black leather and sang Heart. Do I think Amanda can do that? No, but she may have more left in her than we know.

Carly is by far the best of the bunch. Just to clarify aggie's comments, she signed a record contract at 15 with MCA, not RCA. She had a one-album contract with options. Geffin bought out all established MCA contracts and declined 99.9% of all MCA contract options. She was a victim of wrong place, wrong time.
In 1999, at age 15, MCA Records signed her to a record deal. But her rock chick persona didn't fit with the times when Britney and 'N Sync were all the rage. She also blamed bad timing: her CD "Ultimate High" came out soon after 9/11. What's worse, the Wall Street Journal used her deal as an example of how screwy the music business was and came up with two memorable numbers: MCA invested $2.2 million in her but sold just 378 copies of her album after three months of release.

Just FYI, Michael the Aussie had a record deal with a band and released an album.

Kristy Lee had the right idea when she took Simon's words to make stuff a country song; unfortunately she made that song a hoe-down song. I almost fell off my chair I was laughing so hard.

I can't stand Chickieze.

Rocker David is exactly like Chris D. - he finds rock bands that have made hard covers of songs in that genre and completely copies them. All that and he doesn't have the personality or talent of Chris D.

My faves being Carly and Brooke (and skunkhead but I know she won't be around long) I'd say my darkhorse is dreadhead jason. The guy is really talented. He has that real natural and pure talent like Cat Stevens or Jude Cole. Unfortunately much along those lines can be very pretty, very melodic, and very boring. He will become a victim of his niche and not his talent.

The SE asian girl, is sort of like celery... I have no real opinion on.

Okay, here's my rundown on those left:

Amanda (i.e. skunkhead) - I think she's an average singer. I guess my biggest problem is the scratchiness in her voice has gone from being unique to old and annoying. It's where you cannot really hear the words of the song her when she sings.

Brooke - Although she cried last week, I don't think that will be her trait week after week. She's very likeable and as long as keeps picking the right songs I think she can go far.

Carly - Definitely the best singer and entertainer of the group. Hopefully her tatoos do not hurt her because appearance should not be the main factor in a singing contest. The girl can sing!

Chikezie - I like him! I think if he can pick the more well-known songs he will continue to move on. It seems he picks some songs that aren't as popular as some the other singers are singing. Familiarity is important when people are trying to vote for best sung song. You gotta have heard it before.

David A - The kid has talent but if he doesn't prepare better next week he will be in the bottom three. Charm will only go so far. You have to perform.

David Cook - I agree with CaptMike. Cook reminds me a lot of Chris D. He can go far although I don't think he has the best male voice.

Jason Castro - I didn't get the song he sang two weeks ago that the judges went so wild over. I thought it was terrible. In fact, I think he has the personality of a blank piece of paper. He needs to sing an uptempo song or get off the show. Boring.

Kristy Lee - She did what Simon asked but she did it too much. I thought it would have been fine if she had sung it at Dollywood but on A.I. it was a bit too much. She have sung and should sing the next Lennon/McCartney song with her country voice but leave the arrangement alone. We'll see.

Michael - He's still my favorite male singer in the group. I thought his choice of song was weak last week but it meant something to him and so he picked it. Hopefully, next week he'll pick a better song.

Ramiele - She has to relax and sing with passion or she's gone.

Syesha - She's good. She might be a sleeper in the competition. Not sure how far she will go.
