I have a close friend who's daughter starts for Pocola. Truly amazing to see 8 points scored in less than ONE second.

Gotta feel for the Walter girls. To be that close and blow it almost ala Fab Five and the timeout they didn't have.

If there had been a couple bench warnings already, yeah, but there is nothing to suggest that happened.

So.....if there is 7.0 seconds left on the clock and Walters storms the court, do you ignore the rule? What about 19 seconds? Where is the ref supposed to draw the line on a rule that says if there is time left on the clock the teams can't storm the court? Is there really a difference between 7 seconds and .7 seconds? If so, why?

The whole irony is had the Walters girl not been fouled on the 3 point shot, the clock would not have stopped, the game would have been over and the storming of the court wouldn't have mattered.

I originally thought the same as you, but having been there and reflected on it without emotion (I really didn't give a rats ass either way), the refs had no choice and made the right call.

Had they not made that call, they would have blatantly ignored a hard and fast rule that did NOT involve a judgement call like a foul, or a walk, or a charge. It is ok to decide to "let them play in the final minute when calling fouls".

It is not ok to ignore an off the court violation.

Player for Walters hits a 3pt shot and gets fouled with .7 seconds left. Walters players run out in celebration. Ref hits them with a technical. So now the original player hits her free throw (four point play) to put them up by two. Now Pocolo's player shoots two technical shots; makes first and misses the second. Pocolo gets the ball back because of the tech and inbounds the ball and throws a quick desperation heave that goes in. 8 points in the last second.
